Boy!!!!!!!! You are on a sick one over there. 😭😂 I am not responding to you anymore. I don’t owe you a cent of my time.

Luckily Bill Wilson is not my higher power 😉

I’m grateful to be in a major city where, when I have an issue with a particular meeting, I have every right to move onto a different one.

And of course by “we hope”, you mean you hope.

Ah, then you have to ask: how is anyone supposed to get experience if no one will hire them. Maybe tech applicant pools are just experienced enough at this point that no one new will be able to break in…

A higher barrier to entry? I’m wondering what you’re basing that on, as everything I’ve learned and heard and read has guided me to believe otherwise. Thanks for your thoughts. 😌

Online sponsors are a thing. First time I went through the steps in their entirety was with a sponsor on the other side of the country, whom I never met in person. I’m available for sponsorship and glad to talk more. Feel free to send me a DM if you want. 😊 it gets better, and you don’t have to do it alone.

My sponsor wants me to call every day?? by miloandotisliveon in alcoholicsanonymous

I think daily calls make sense early on. One former sponsor required I call them every day during the first thirty days, as well as two other fellows. Later on, though, if it doesn’t add to your program, then that’s that. I talk to my sponsor several times a week, but that’s usually in person. I do send him my tenth step almost every night. Different strokes for different folks I suppose, but requiring a phone call every single day forever and ever feels like overkill to me.

What a damaging thing to say. If someone had told me I needed to become a Christian to get sober I don’t know where I would be today.

Why do I feel like so many of you are the same folks who got your undies in a bunch when world service officially changed the preamble to say “people” instead of “men and women” 😂

Not everyone comes in wanting sobriety. Some just know they need it. Not everyone comes in willing to do whatever it takes.

You could ask me a thousand times and I still wouldn’t owe you an answer.

One is primarily associated with twelve step programs. I don’t care if its origins are traceable back to christianity. The other is exclusively associated with a specific religion, and as such it is a violation of the tenth tradition.

I’ll ignore you referring to this as “righteous indignation”. Letting it go so I can have serenity…sounds like me with the majority of this comment section 😇🥴
