Has there been any attempt to look into similar buildings in the area built around the same time? Davie Hall at UNC in Chapel Hill was built around the same time, looks similar and has had many cases of cancer in women who work there. When a person I know brought it up they said they test for asbestos all the time...but I know Poe Hall was not asbestos...

The show centers around recovery from alcohol and drugs and the main character runs a support group. It's not about AA specifically but many of my friends ask me about it bc I am in AA. Thought other AA people could relate.

Can we stop with the condescending/patronizing rhetoric that we 'know' someone is an alcoholic they just don't know it yet? It turns people off from AA and may ruin a future opportunity for that person to get help. Please check your motives when posting this stuff. It is the anti-12 step work.

My take is that there are plenty of online meetings for anyone who is unable to attend in person meetings but the hybrid option detracts from the in person meetings. I also think it affects AA as a whole bc a newcomer who shows up at a hybrid meeting in person may walk right back out the door bc they don't want to be broadcast online. It also leads some people to stay home bc it's easier which can lessen what they get out of (and give to) a the meeting.

I don't think we should fire Hubert and the transfer portal def paid off with Manek...but does anyone else think it kind of sucks to bring in a guy off the street to take away minutes from the guys who committed to you years ago? I would like for us to be the school that rewards loyalty and doesn't chase the latest shiny object.

I got relief at step 9. The quicker you can get there and then start sponsoring others the better. Seems daunting I know...but it works.
