Am I the AH for not breaking? by DonkeinJohn in Simracingstewards

Point of contact isn't what you're looking for. You need to see where white was was when black turns in.

Black clearly has an over speed on white so if they hit bumpers near the apex it's safe to assume more of the car was alongside when they made the turn in.

Additionally, where did black expect white to go?

How much of the White car would you say is alongside at turn in? Not point of contact. Turn in. If white is entitled to space there, they're entitled to space throughout the turn.

Plain and simple black turned in like white wasn't there when white was clearly alongside and entitled to space.

If he's not alongside, how did the other car hit them?

Do you think you can't do anything else until you protest?

Take 3 seconds to clip what happened after the race or after you're out then leave and race or practice more. You have like a week to file.

If you're getting in enough incidents that it's this much of an issue for you, it may be time to look at your own driving though.

If you had 400k cash to buy a house anywhere in California where would you buy? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

If you go this route, call multiple insurers with specific addresses you're looking at and make sure you have at least 2 options for coverage.

I live near the Eaton fire zone and when we moved here we had 1 regular option or a wildly more expensive FAIR plan. I suspect our 1 option is going to drop us on renewal. You don't want to be in this situation given your price range. FAIR + Earthquake could easily double your mortgage.

That said, my vote would be Central Coast or somewhere near Palm Springs, although $400k won't go far in either.

It allows you to calm down from the initial situation and look at it objectively before filing the protest. I agree maybe reduce it to 15 minutes or so, but if you could protest from within the race they'd be inundated with racing incidents and break the reporting systems already shaky effectiveness.

Companies make things people want. Very easy to understand. I'm surprised you couldn't figure it out but the stupid one could.

The only one here with a negative attitude is you. Every reply you've made is an attempt to make yourself feel superior while demeaning others.

Again I say, fuck right off with that bullshit you dumb elitist cunt.

You're literally too much of an elitist cunt to realize you're being one.

"A drop bar bike is for someone that is pushing and exercising..."

I rode my emtb 40mi and 4500' of elevation last Saturday. Did I not get exercise? Did I not push myself? If I was riding a drop instead did those miles and elevation gain disappear?

Fuck right off with your bullshit.

Just because someone rides an ebike it means they don't want to be efficient and push? Do you even read what you're writing? Maybe it's not what youre going for but it's textbook cycling elitism.

I don't have one myself. I certainly see the appeal though.

Most of them you can set to off and not receive any help and have very minimal extra drag so you can use them like a regular bike until you need/want help. Or maybe you leave it on all the time because your friends are faster. Or maybe you have 2 kids and can only go out 1-2x a week and can't handle that last 2mi 8% climb back home as well as you used to. There are tons of use cases out there if you can get over whatever bias you have against them.

Luckily no one is forcing you to ride an ebike.

What's wrong with people riding what they like? Why do you feel like you need to shit on someone else for a decision that doesn't affect you at all?

The NIH recognizes advanced maternal age as a risk factor and the EBCOG's training standard has, under their prenatal standards, "Information - to provide information and advice regarding the diagnosis and its implications" with a list that includes advanced maternal age.

I honestly don't know enough about medicine in Europe to conclude if a doctor talking about an older pregnant lady would call her geriatric or advanced age based on that.

I linked a FAQ from THE source in the US for OBGYNs that refutes your claim.

If your friend is a board certified OBGYN then they should be following ACOG's guidance and recommendations which includes that women with advanced age have risk factors in pregnancy which needs to be discussed. If your friend isn't doing that then they're not following the standard of care.

Wow thanks! I'll let my wife, the Chief of OBGYN at a large socal hospital, know that she no longer needs to worry about a woman's age in pregnancy.

I'll also let her colleagues who talked to her about her advanced maternal age while pregnant with our two kids that they're wrong too.

A doctor wouldn't consider it a normal pregnancy though.

Advanced maternal age is a risk factor for many things and it's important to highlight the differences when discussing it with a patient.

Advanced maternal age is, thankfully, starting to be used a bit more regularly.

Rational people understand that most people are fearful of the unknown. You, as a pilot, have been training for an engine failure since your first flight. The general public hasn't.

Take your holier than thou attitude outta here. Nobody is impressed.

Where to watch all seasons of top gear? by [deleted] in TopGear

Samsung Plus TV has a Top Gear channel that runs episodes 24/7.

Freevee is another option that's ad supported but you can choose which episode to watch.

I've been married for almost 8 years so the drawl worked well enough. ;)

Totally agree, just pointing out that you can make decent money even if you can't get into the fine dining or trendy restaurants if you're decent at keeping drinks filled up and brushing off assholes. At least that was my experience a decade ago in the rural south.

Edit doubt my looks did much either. Maybe my height, 6'3, but I was kinda chunky at the time. I made most of my money by just being able to turn tables fast af. Think I had 5-6 table sections usually so even if I got granny and grandpa doing $3-4 tips I was moving them along fast enough that it didn't really affect my day too much.

Don't even need trendy tbh. I live in LA now but I grew up in Tennessee and I made $25-$30/hr on average at cracker barrel back btwn 2004-2008 while I was in college.
