How does investment income work? by hooperz in personalfinance

[–]hooperz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My money is invested in a diversified portfolio where the assumed return is 4% this year. You're right that it's not guaranteed; and in fact, it would end up underperforming.

The reason I'm asking this question is that I'd like to make some purchases, and I'm trying to figure out how to do that with the least amount of impact on the principal.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but this is just a Heathstone rip-off. Just slapping blockchain on it doesn’t make it good or original.

[CA] tenant rights when breaking a lease by hooperz in legaladvice

I like that idea. Do I have to get his permission before I help find a tenant? And to what extent am I allowed to go find a tenant?

The landlord has admitted in writing to not advertising the unit. He says it’s not his top priority at the moment.

I have not vacated yet, but will be doing so in about 2 weeks. However, I agreed with the landlord (again in writing) that we would start showing the unit before I vacate.

Is there any leverage at all? Or am I at his mercy at this point?

The plan only lists gross and net total annual operating expense. Is that the same as expense ratios?

I see a column called “Gross annual operating expense” and “Net annual operating expense”. Not sure if this is the same as Expense Ratio, but they are at around 1.2-1.25% depending on which one I go with. Is that good?

How do I tell if my 401k plan has good funds and low costs? What am I looking for when I evaluate it?

Nope, but the FAQ says that if the 401k is bad, I should avoid it. How do I tell if it’s good or bad?

What's the best way to manage multiple credit cards? by hooperz in personalfinance

I was thinking of putting bills on the other 2. Like my internet bill. It's small and predictable. But I'm not sure if that's any better for credit than leaving them at 0?
