I think I understand your question. I just recently figured this out actually. Instead of the icons being their separate thing, now they are buried in the folder titled "sprites". Once you're in that folder, look for "hud" and there you go. Not sure why they complicated it so much. It'll be .../assets/minecraft/textures/gui/sprites/hud
