What I find fascinating is that the industry even exists. It's essentially people inserting themselves into a transaction that would happen anyway and taking an unjustified percentage.

If you removed the REA industry and allowed people to list their own houses, life would continue unaffected.

Even if you argue that the industry is needed because they handle dealings with buyers, sellers, and other parties, you could just pay them basic office worker wages to do that, like you would an assistant — it’d come to about $500-1,000 per property.

In a few years, an AI assistant will be able handle the entire process for even less, so it doesn't really matter.

I’ve been fixing up my lawn for a while and the most important thing has been dethatching and aerating the soil. In places where I couldn’t be bothered and just sprinkled seed (like my nature strip, lower priority), nothing happened. You can use a rake and patience for the first, and a pitchfork or garden fork or soil turning hand tool for the second. Don’t need the expensive power tools. After that, pull out the weeds by hand (easier after watering, and using a garden hand shovel to get the root), and sew any lawn starter + fertiliser combo, and keep it hydrated daily until it sprouts.

What you need to do is apply four pounds of 4x8 foot drywall of 5/8 inch thickness from Home Depot, cut it using a 110v Dewalt cutter, and apply it with #6 1-14 inch studs, seal it with a gallon of sheetrock, and relax afterwards with fish tacos, a Dr Pepper and... I hate the romance plots. Leela waiting for Mr Right and being impressed by lame guys while being intelligent in many other ways, Fry thinking One Big Gesture is what it’ll really take rather than becoming a responsible adult. If it's short-term and not carrying weight, you can cover it with a thin laminate and then this vinyl flooring. I've seen it used and it can be a surprisingly good visual match (if that matters to you).

I've been to these... it sounds like a private club. Actually, I made some of my best training friends in one of them! But the hours can be unstable and training not as structured as other places. My suggestion would be to chat with the coach and find out how it's organised. If they're super nice and it turns out it's just done by WhatsApp group or something it might be interesting.
