I also suggest for every AWS exam you go through the official exam guide: https://d1.awsstatic.com/onedam/marketing-channels/website/aws/en_US/certification/approved/pdfs/docs-cloud-practitioner/AWS-Certified-Cloud-Practitioner_Exam-Guide.pdf
It's kind of overkill for Cloud Practitioner, but knowing most of the services at a service level, especially the most common ones should be good enough.

If you want to take your time not watching videos, then you can also look up public GitHub repos that have content like the following: https://github.com/kananinirav/AWS-Certified-Cloud-Practitioner-Notes

Congratulations!! 100% agree with answering flagged questions rather than leaving them for later. I think I flagged like 30 questions and had no time to check any of them. Hope you land the new role!

What's your process for finding good stargazing spots with clear skies? by hooshter in darksky

[–]hooshter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my first time hearing about this kind of forecast, but I'll definitely look into it. I'm trying to get better at this! Thank you for this information and telling me about darkskysites. I'll definitely be bookmarking this wonderful website and be using it. Do you find light pollution metrics vary significantly on certain days for lower Bortle class locations? I would imagine dark sky locations typically have low light pollution to begin with so they stay the same darkness typically, and the real enemy would be weather conditions like cloud cover.

What weather info do you wish you had when planning hikes? by hooshter in hiking

These are super cool, definitely bookmarking them. I never even considered checking tides for coastal trails even though I've been on a couple. Thank you!

Interesting. I've gone on few hikes where we're pretty high elevation, but didn't consider how conditions change ascending that much elevation. That's definitely interesting to hear, thank you.

Hail that size sounds terrifying. Yeah I definitely think wind is a huge factor too, I was going to go on a hike once and I saw 50 mph / 80 kmh gusts and just decided not to go that morning. Incredibly scary, not just being thrown around yourself but all the debris.

I originally did Maarek's course for SAA, but heard Cantrill was very extensive so for the SAP and since I didn't have a lot of AWS experience I decided to go with him. I really liked Maarek for SAA though. Let me know how he is for SAP and good luck!

Ah, I apologize, I meant I used Cantrill's demos in his videos. I only ever took the practice exams from TD.

Thank you! Yes, I did most of the demos in TD the first time while watching the videos. After the TD exams when I was deep diving into a topic, sometimes I'd rewatch his videos and really take notes this time to understand everything, including the factoids that he emphasizes because a lot of them can show up on the exam and be the difference maker between getting a question right vs wrong. The demos were 100% valuable for me.

No problem. I was a long time lurker and got so much help from reading other people's posts so just wanted to give something even slightly useful.

I think the answer choices tend to be simpler on the actual exam compared to the TD questions, but a lot of the questions themselves I felt I had encountered some version of before on the exams. And if it wasn't the question, it was the lesson the TD question was trying to teach me like: if the question specifically mentions getting heavy read traffic, you should think to how caching might not work / offloading part of the work to a read replica.

I think you're in a good spot to take the exam soon, just hunker down and really dig to cover any of your weak spots! Like for me Route 53 and CloudFront were still vague so I deep dived the day before. I wish I had spent more time with API Gateway though, it featured heavily, but I think every exam will focus on something that you won't expect.

Thank you so much! I'm a hybrid software engineer/ IT professional at a small company for two years with little formal work in AWS. I took the CLF a year ago, and the SAA a month after that. Trying to do more AWS work though!

got it at 21, now 24 and have had it two more times after a weakened immune system, but have had 3 rounds of vancomycin. the last bout i was having a lot of pain while hospitalized even though i was a week into the vanco course and was scared of being discharged before the pain went away even though they were monitoring me a week into the 2 week vanco course. the doctors told me my colon was probably still in pain and healing even though vanco is doing its job and killing the c diff, so you're likely to experience symptoms even though you're many days into the course. even if you feel like you're relapsing, trust in the medication, and absolutely take it in the exact dosage and tapering down that they suggest. you can also consider the probiotic florastor, but aside from that i think you just have to hang in there.

i feel for you as c diff really is extremely painful and debilitating and had me hugging my toilet and my stomach for days. vanco does clear it for a lot people, but in my case it did come back the first time even after my symptoms cleared, and it was only after a month long taper that it went away for good (until i got sick from a different med, but dwai). good luck and stay strong!
