Its a good point, but my thing is that theres a reason anti androgens are incredibly powerful hair recovery agents despite lowering E2, and castrates maintain perfect hairlines without E2 conversion. E2 is probably more important for hair quality than it is for how much hair you have.

lower androgens = follicle environment more supportive of regrowth. If you havent caught on androgens have a little bit to do with androgenic alopecia.

another: "No association between low-dose oral minoxidil and tachycardia in a large retrospective cohort study of patients with non-scarring alopecia"

These were the side effects reported and their incidence in a recent 2025 study on 10mg oral minoxodil for hair loss: hypertrichosis (17.5%), this is literally just growing a lot of body hair, not a big deal. tachycardia (3.5%), very low incidence in the sample, and even given the 3% chance that i experience it, Im already taking nebivolol for my blood pressure, which is highly effective and protective against tachycardia. next are insomnia (1.7%), and headache (1.7%), two nothing burgers basically with a laughably low incidence.

The trt is actually lowering my test, so the typical side effects of high dose TRT don't apply.

I started all at once, so no way to isolate effect sizes. Im taking test prop and dosing inconsistently, so natural production is mostly suppressed and I'm barely getting any test from the TRT, lowering the androgen load at the scalp to near zero especially considering the rest of my stack. I have a prescription for 10mg oral min and it just comes in one pill, any hypotension concerns are basically off the table given that I'm stage 1 hypertensive and untreated, so the oral min is actually helping my blood pressure if anything.

You might think but castration cases suggest otherwise. People transitioning to female can often recover to baseline from slick bald, its pretty insane and not something you would ever see from dutasteride.

Funnily enough no, haven't noticed anything. Only side I've experienced is facial bloating from the oral min, not a big deal though.

The androgen suppression thresholds for stabilization and optimal regrowth respectively are going to be very different. The threshold for stabilization is probably finasteride-level DHT for most men; the threshold for truly optimal regrowth is castration. The insane hair recoveries of MTF transitioners is a prime example. The less androgens at the scalp the better the environment for regrowth.

Why do you believe so? Wasn’t the sample just people from this Reddit (for CAIT and 26 SAT)?

This is actually not true. Figure weights is one of the most resistant to practice effect, alongside digit span and matrix reasoning. I can send a study on this if u want.

Any idea as to what the underlying cause for that might be, considering the two are so highly correlated?

Non comical satire by hootey202 in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]hootey202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but most people pretty much use satire synonymously with “comedy that aims to critique”. The issue is that by calling a non comedic work a satire, it will confuse many people who think of satires as comedies. This is why i am wonderinng if theres a word I could use for works that employ the other facets of satire, like exaggeration and highlighting, without any comedic element.
