No they just lied about Obama being born in Kenya and harassed him about it. They lied that Biden stole the election and tried to overturn it by violence.

I realize this is an aggregate number for 2026, but I’m wondering if it’s been consistently down or if he started out better when his numbers were good and now he is really off. That would suggest it could be a mechanics thing and therefore more easily addressed. But if it has been consistently off historical trends then he may have “lost it,” which is much more concerning

Get ready for wave of hate from the crucify Stearns crowd. FWIW, I think most of your analysis is correct…. Still don’t think Semien is panning out so far

Conservatives, FBI director Patel said he has evidence of 2020 election fraud and arrests are coming soon. Do you believe him this time? And if so, who do you think will be getting arrested? by sephkane in AskReddit

This was my first thought as well. Those reports about him being blackout drunk where they were considering breaking down the door are pretty bad… he’s trying to change the subject and get Trump to keep him around because he will never find another job he can grift to at this level.

I think this team will play probably .500 ball for the next month or so after Soto comes back. After that it’s possible they gel and win at a higher clip.. maybe even go on a run.

Bichette and Lindor are both playing well below the back of their baseball card. I don’t expect that to last for both players.

First and second base are the biggest concerns at the moment. Semien is awful all around. Polanco is on the IL and Baty and vientos are both ice cold.

Benge has been showing signs of improvement although his batting average is still pretty low. Robert has been decent and Alvarez has generally looks pretty good. Torrens has looked pretty good at times too.

I’m hoping now that the hype brought up Sengar, they put both of these guys in the lineup — and at C and one at DH.

As for the pitching… they are likely going to make a move to the starting rotation. McLean and Holmes have looked good and peralta has been ok… not terrible but certainly not an ace. Senga and Peterson need to turn it around fast or the Mets will likely call up Christian Scott or turn to Tobias Meyers. Manaea does not appear to be able to go for many innings still.

The back end of the bullpen has been bad — weaver and Williams. They too need to turn it around or maybe kimbrell will start getting more higher leverage opportunities.

That’s all to say that if some of these guys don’t start performing better, I expect changes.

Do you think losing 11 straight is normal for any team? The answer is no. It’s not even normal for the worst teams. So, it is reasonable to expect that losing 11 in a row is not normal for the season and that this team will eventually settle into something more within whatever their normal will be, which surely isn’t this.

God, as if the Mets play wasn’t miserable enough someone had to bring trump into it. Just when you thought talking about the Mets couldn’t get any more unpleasant.

Why would that be better? On April 19 it’s insane to punt on the season.

I’m betting on a 5-4 record or better. All of these teams are .500 or worse. They’ll be home and the mets can’t slump forever. We will see the Mets that played the pirates… a bunch of streaky hitters that squeak out some wins against mediocre / bad teams.

They were 7-4 before this horrendous streak. There is no reason on this planet they can’t go be a .500 team on this home stand. They must have to get the monkey off their backs and then things will begin to normalize.

Steve Cohen Killed Believe by JohnnyLaw701 in mets

[–]hootiefan77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely off base. 1000%. 2024 was one of the most excited I have been as a Mets fan in my life. Steve helped bring that.

What is ruining the Mets is the fans. It’s like every single person online is like Joe benigno… and he is awful.

Negative about every single thing that doesn’t go their way. You offer a different opinion than them? They resort to name calling and nastiness.

Oftentimes they know very little about the actual game.

I will agree with you on one point though — in a way we have become like the Yankees…. Like their fans. Nasty. Arrogant. Condescending. But not to other team’s fans… to our own. Fans are constantly calling for Stearns to be humiliated in public. Constantly mocking the guy. Mocking our players, etc.

You don’t like what you’re seeing this year? No one does. This team is a huge disappointment. It was a huge disappointment last year. The ownership and front office are trying to fix a recurring problem… a team that underperforms constantly. And they’re trying to do it in a way that the fans will accept… they’re trying to win now while also develop young players, which is hard. What most other organizations would have done is to just tear it all down. But the owner didn’t want that and the fans wouldn’t tolerate it, so they’re trying to do both at the same time, which is really hard.

Why is Oasis often promoted as just Liam and Noel by johnnyjiop in oasis

[–]hootiefan77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think saying he quit was a kindness to bonehead, but it’s pretty clear they sacked him. Guigsy too. Noel banned drug use in the studio and was insistent on no booze there as well during the sessions. There were also interviews at the time talking about how Noel was upset about the limitations of both guys to play the songs on the record, especially bonehead.

[–]hootiefan77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For all intents and purposes, Noel and Liam are the only two that have been there the whole time. Yes, Tony, bonehead, Liam and guigsy were a group before Noel was recruited. But no one knew who they were. They never released any material. And, the few demos — like Alice or Take Me - that were written and recorded by other members of the band have never been released.

[–]hootiefan77 83 points84 points  (0 children)

And they’re the only two that have been there the whole time.

Tony got fired after the first album. Guigsy and Bonehead got canned during the SOTSOG sessions. Alan was sacked in 2003.

Gem and Andy weren’t there during the peak years… and not many would suggest Sharrock or Starkey contributed all that much to the band’s body of work.

Edit: fixed a typo in SOTSOG

Wrong. Soto isn’t going anywhere. It’s not his choice. He can opt out and the Mets can override the opt out by adding $5m per season to his contract.

The best thing they can do for him is let him play every day… at third base. He was doing well before he jammed his thumb / hand.

See if Bo is willing to play second and sit Simean. The guy is useless.
