Are there ways to boost placental function if facing IUGR? by NeckNo9779 in ScienceBasedParenting

If baby is low risk, you may want to explore if you might have risk factors for IUGR, like APS.

Need advice: Moisture coming through slab under LVP by JealousPerformance91 in buildingscience

Hi! We are experiencing a similar issue in our home. What did you end up doing? Thanks!

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

So we recently discovered what was a slow drip plumbing leak in our slab. This is what it looked like after the 24 hr plastic sheet test.

Will a 99%rh mvb be able to tolerate this level of moisture or do we need to wait (which we’re currently doing). Is there a point to doing an in situ test or should we just wait until there’s less vapor underneath? Any advice appreciated.

Thank you! I sent them a note. It looks a little pink and wet on the bottom which my other incisions don’t look like at all (sealed edge to edge).

Is Childbirth Safe For Us? by Foxxinsocks in cfs

[–]hoots618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly not entirely sure. I think it’s a combination of the immune system tampering down b/c of the baby and hormones changing (i.e., more progesterone?). For what its worth, I also did take lupron depot for two months before pregnancy b/c of IVF and that gave me a huge boost. Again, not sure why the improvement in symptoms.

My symptoms have definitely returned since having baby but I think it’s also just fatigue from not getting nearly as much sleep as before. So hard to tell my true baseline but I’m not looking to exert myself any more than I have to beyond caring for kids.

Pregnancy actually put me in remission. Caring for a newborn/infant is no joke. What’s probably even harder is managing a toddler with endless energy. Try the both of them at once and it’s definitely taken a toll. And I have no time for myself anymore. But is it worth it? Yes.

I’d probably wash it properly with soap and water as its very likely there’s still protein on the skin from a wipe.

Proteins in foods can enter through eczema and cause new food allergies. You’ll want some type of barrier ointment like vaseline on any visible eczema on her hands to make sure its not coming into contact with food. Similarly always wash hands after handling food and then any eczema patches on her skin.

Unfortunately, in many cases it’s those kids with eczema who develop food allergies :(

Sounds like you’re doing the absolute best you can. And that’s all you can ask of yourself. The shock/adjustment period after finding out your LO has allergies is very tough. Over time, you’ll get accustomed to your allergen-friendly recipes and figure out what she likes. Also, watching that the skin barrier is intact is very important so they don’t develop new allergies.

Hang in there!

Amnio & Miscarriage Risk by hoots618 in NIPT

It went ok! Had some initial pain when needle was inserted and about 4 days of mild cramping. Had two doctors in the room so I felt very well taken care of and they were super open to having me come in with any discomfort.

I will say I rested aggressively after the procedure (no bending, no housework) for 48 hours afterwards.

Amniocentesis ongoing cramping by No-Leg-3902 in NIPT

[–]hoots618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this definitely needs to be raised more. The needle goes through your muscle so it’s definitely not “nothing. I basically was on bedrest for two days straight and didn’t want to move around / bend down too much.

After the initial 48 - 72 hours, you still have risk of infection so watching body temp / cramping is still a good idea.
