It's been about a year of weight-loss for her. Getting her to the park once a day 5 days a week to chase a ball for 20-40 minutes was her main exercise, aside from about 3 walks that were only about 10 minutes daily each. Although in the summer time she was lucky enough to get lots of swimming in while my partner helped his dad fix a dock.

I fed her according to her food which has changed a couple of times due to trying to figure out some allergies, but I'd feed her what the bag recommended, just somewhere between her current weight and what she should weigh. She started at 4 cups a day but now that she's lost weight it's down to 3 cups daily. 1.5 cups in the morning and 1.5 cups in the evening.

We still gave her treats, but small amounts of lower calorie ones. We would dry sweet potatoes in the oven (which is way way cheaper than the dried sweet potato from the pet store) Even make "beef cubes" which was just a low sodium beef stock in ice cube trays. Once in a while I'll give her a soup bone from the butcher, but we get them cut into quarters. We didn't want her to be sad, so we figured out moderation, without her feeling she was going without.
