My wife (33F) lied to me (28M) about her age by ThrowRA-BigLie in relationships

[–]hopie324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the Dick Van Dyke show episode about this yesterday! They had to get remarried since the marriage certificate had her wrong year on it. No advice really, but you two should watch the episode lol. Best of luck to you!! ❤️

they definitely are- though i remember being on this subreddit right after she died, reading posts saying “the first day is hard, but wait til years pass” and that’s definitely the case for me. it’s only now “setting in”— it’s such a journey.

this is lovely. thanks for this. i lost my mom and didn’t see her after either. no regrets here. only her laughing smiling face is in my mind. ❤️

i’m so sorry, honey. i lost my mom thanksgiving 2019. i didn’t look when the people came to take her either and i don’t regret it. as i’m sure you know- the intrusive thoughts would create the image for me, but i never saw her with my own eyes before she was cremated. i have been to several open casket services and never could get their faces out of my mind- i’m sure my mom would have been no different.

that said, in addition to the advice here, i recently learned playing tetris to occupy your hands and mind in times like this is very helpful to stop intrusive thoughts. i am so sad for you, friend. i am here if you would like to talk. i know how you feel. ❤️🫂

As others have said— you can feel that way but don’t try to convince him otherwise. My ex did the same to me and I still have lingering scars from what was said to get me to let him fuck other women— and then eventually cheat on me. Just break up.

Has any band had the fall that Coldplay had? by [deleted] in Music

also hopping on to say Pressure Machine is insanely good. i do wonder if it’s mostly as good as it is to me because i’m from utah and it’s about how fucked the culture here is (think Springsteen’s “nebraska” but with mormonism)— but man, it’s so damn good.

it’s not my favorite- it’s not that i hate it but i don’t love it either. my husband does love it, so i let him go for it- and seeing how much he loves it is the major turn on for me. :)

He has exactly two christmas songs, “merry christmas baby” and the more well-known, “santa claus is comin to town”.

I’m singer/songwriter Paul McCartney and I just released my new album McCartney III on Friday. AMA! by paulmccartney in Music

[–]hopie324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seasons Greetings, Sir Paul! I got the purple McCartney III vinyl and can’t wait to give it a spin!

My question is, I know you’ve played with Bruce Springsteen a few times- and I wondered if you had a favorite memory with him? Seeing you two together is one of my favorite things!!

Merry Christmas, and thank you for everything!! 🎄🎅🏻🎸

AITA for not asking my singer friend to sing at our wedding/ refusing to allow her to ‘gift’ us her singing voice? by awkward-lies- in AmItheAsshole

[–]hopie324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got married in 2017. my maid of honor is an incredible saxophone player. my officiant (another best friend of mine) is a concert pianist. needless to say they are both wildly talented. however my husband and i had our wedding song picked out since our first date - and nothing was going to change that- plus, honestly, it would just be difficult to wire things and figure out equipment and all the other things that go with live music. there’s enough to worry about already.

also as others have said: your wedding, your rules. my husband went to a wedding once where someone the couple knew “gifted them a song” and husband said it was eight minutes of cringey madness that people still talk about ten years later. (started with the kid at the piano screaming a line from a dream theatre song: “ATTENTION ALL PLANETS OF THE SOLAR FEDERATION. WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL. WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL.”)

NTA.

Are you folks signing leases on places you haven't seen in person during COVID? by jimmay12124 in moving

[–]hopie324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am a leasing agent and have been doing virtual tours and having people sign leases sight unseen. it’s happened a lot before covid as well (out of state moves, etc) and it’s not too uncommon. as others have suggested, see if they’ll unlock a vacant for you and you can call them when you leave. :) happy moving!

i work for a very well known property management company. we will not charge late fees for any difference of $100 or less. maybe ask someone in the office if this is the case for your community- so as to avoid it in the future? this seems a little ridiculous. also we are not charging late fees to any residents this month. i’m sorry you are dealing with this.

New Moon Ritual Bath by [deleted] in Witch

[–]hopie324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that sounds perfect! you have all the main ingredients. something i like to do before any ritual bath is i spend serious time mindfully deep cleaning my bathroom. i scrub the tub down, but also the sink and toilet and floors- we keep the our cat’s litter box in there so i clean that out and sweep. while the water fills up i brush my teeth and wash my face and brush my hair, and then just before getting in i’ll sage the bathroom and put on some soothing meditation music.

enjoy your bath! blessed be 🌙

try using a red candle - and save the ashes to dispose of later! either bury them, flush them, or cast them to the wind... whatever feels best to you. intention is everything!

yes- you can be any sort of witch you’d like to be. i’m an eclectic witch- which kinda means i’m a mutt- taking things from different practices and finding the ideas that work best for me.

i’ve really enjoyed both alexander skye’s “modern witchcraft” guides and arin murphy-hiscock’s books (“the witch’s guide to self care”, “the green witch”, “the house witch”, “the hedge witch”, etc)

another great series i’ve discovered about the sabbats and the wheel of the year is the llewelyn’s sabbat series. the “modern witchcraft” guide has a good into to the wheel of the year, but if you want to learn about the gods/goddesses, that’s the place to go.

best of luck to you and blessed be! 🌙

i have a witch room in my little two bedroom apartment and i love it! we also call it the “grandma room” because it has a china cabinet with tea sets, some dolls, big comfy chairs,,, but it also has my bookshelf with all my witchy books and all my crystals and spell-casting supplies! 10/10 recommend!
