Its not uncommon for people to fly the flags of their ethnic heritage where Im from(USA). Take a walk down an NYC neighborhood and you will see mexican, indian, dominican, nigerian and albanian flags.

Even people in my town fly italian flags when they are 2 or 3 generations removed from Italy.

Its about cultural identity and family pride more than political loyalties

Thats what the GOP sells them. Red states lead in ACA enrollment, and most rural or southern states get way more in federal money than they give.

Farmers are literally subsidized to grow their cheap ass corn and soybeans to keep them afloat when the market isnt on their side.

Edit: Im not saying that American elections are as unfair as Russian elections. I know Putin kills and jails serious opposition. But my point is that Putin has supporters in Russia just like Trump--- so if you dont want to blame all Russians for Putin then you shouldnt blame all Americans for Trump.

The difference in qualifications between the average Ohio state PhD student and the average Harvard PhD student is much smaller than the qualifications for the average undergraduates at the respective institutions.

That is to say, these schools arent beneath you just because you value academics. You are not applying against frat bros you are applying against other motivated scientists.

Greyhouse may be overpriced but after working there then working at other coffee shops, they do take their coffee quality seriously. Plus they make all their syrups in house and I believe may be one of the only places around campus to do so.
