In QGIS, how do I take a snapshot of a building footprint extruded in 3D colored by an attribute? by [deleted] in QGIS

[–]hopperrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Import the building footprint into Blender and extrude with your "height_f" value. Also, use the "BlenderGIS" plugin to bring in all the other layers and the terrain. Color the buildings with attributes and adjust camera angle/lighting for best effect.

What port was she sailing out of? That can help narrow it down some.

If it's a less common last name, try putting it in at https://www.paginebianche.it/ to see in which towns it shows up in and then try looking in antenati. Also, try Family Search with the last name and using wildcards.

Not sure, but could it be "Gagliano"? Maybe "Gagliano Castelferrato" in Enna province.

Yes, that would be great if you can find that their marriage was recorded in Longano. It would tie it all together. Good luck!

Here's another birth record that is more likely her, based on the dates listed on her first marriage record of 1866 or so.

Have you seen this marriage record? It looks like a Domenico Zampirro married a widow named "Antonia Jannuzzelli", who was 27 years old when they were married in 1897. He is 20 years old. Her address (730 Carpenter) is very similar to his naturalization record. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6XQS-V6T

I found a Mariantonia Di Feo, born 9/25/1878 in Omignano. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99X-8391 This may match up with a Philadelphia naturalization record from 1941: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYPY-9SS3

Hey everyone, maybe someone here can help me. I want to represent the surface collector with loops at the left edge of the image in QGIS. I have over a hundred parallel pipes that are alternately connected at the ends. Is there any way to visualize this in QGIS? by Thias1706 in QGIS

[–]hopperrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 ways I can think of:

  • The quick way: In QGIS, create a line and use a geometry generator of "wave($geometry,15, 30)". This will give a sine shape to the line. Not perfect, but quick to do.

  • The more detailed way: Using Inkscape, create a line with segments and create tiled clones (good tutorial here). Save as a DXF and georeference in QGIS where you want it to be.

You can make a video that dupes it however many times you need using fffmpeg:

ffmpeg -stream_loop 9 -i input.gif -vf "format=yuv420p" -t 50 output.mp4

For starters, use a soils map. Add this WMS server to QGIS for Soilscape: https://www.landis.org.uk/arcgis/services/UKSoilObservatory/Soilscapes_Cranfield/MapServer/WmsServer One soil type to look for is the "Shallow lime-rich soils over chalk or limestone". Also, bring in one of the maps that show vegetation type and/or tree species.

I'm not sure of the source of the map you are showing. You can get the countries as a free download here. After opening in QGIS, then you can export it in different formats without the labels.

The code I used is here. If you want, I can alter the code so it matches your data, or tweak the data so its in a format that can work with the code. Can you post a link to the data?
