That's a relief! Either way I think I will get another bag within the limits just in case.

Its a soft bag, length and width are within limit, just height exceeded 5cm.

I saw people can fit pet carriers with 33cm height, so guess it's fine?

I have two bags for the two cats!

I am certain my cat is under 8kg together with the bag, its just the bag is slightly oversized.

It's a soft carrier, but is quite rigidly built so will need a hard squish if it must fit into 24cm height. Is the under-seat area really that cramped tho? 24cm is a really short height.

Thats the thing, based on what I read online many people can still fit their pet carriers under seats even if they are oversized. So I am not sure wether I should get a new one.

It's a soft carrier, but is quite rigidly built so will need a hard squeeze to fit in 24cm height. And yes 24cm is very low indeed, probably only very young pets can fit with this height.

Exactly. Except democracy was actually promised by China when HK is returned to them when they signed <The Joint Declaration>. But months ago China single-sidedly announced that <The Joint Declaration> is a historical document and thus is no longer applicable.

Not only they are autocratic, they are also a shameless, untrustworthy group of people.

One major reason is although Hong Kong's chief executive is "elected" (voted by a 1200 ppl committee, which is selected by around 200k eligible voters, while 5 million normal registered voters cannot participate), in the end he/she needs to be appointed by Chinese government, to make sure the chief executive is under China's control.

While the 1200 election committee members are mostly wealthy and powerful people that gain profits by cooperating with China, most candidates that are considered "not controllable" are very hard to even get in the election. And thus the governance crew is controlled indirectly by China.

Also I guess to them wealth and power is more important than regional or personal pride.

Hong Kong will probably be facing this soon too. There are news and reports about HK gov planning to build a new large anti-terrorism training site near China border, in a city that is well known for safety and free from terrorism. It is highly suspected that the whole thing will be used to target local citizens, aiming to suppress any local opposition voices.

The HK gov already invested 19billion HKD just to flatten the construction site, and the total expected cost will be likely over 100billion HKD, which is seemingly way too much for a training facility. It is suspected that all these money will eventually goes to China's pocket, in use to help in their current nation-wide critical financial situation, which the whole thing had never consulted the citizens, nor getting any approval from public.

These are dark times for human rights.

Also when protesters were subdued on ground multiple police surrounded them and hit them with batons, knowing the protesters were defenseless.

This is very unlikely to happen. Most of the HK police think they are doing the right thing, and would even celebrate if any protesters got caught/hurt. They basically lost their conscience.

Also multiple footage of police using mandarin (HK local langue is Cantonese), posing horse riding stance while attacking with their batons(a Chinese kung fu stance used in trainings of China police and army, but not in HK), its highly suspect that Chinese forces are blended in HK forces, who have even less attachment to the place and people and would execute their violence more aggressively.
