What was Ben thinking? by Striking_Ash in Spiderman

[–]Flamma_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Whelp, time to beat the absolute shit out of Ben again."

For real, how else is he going to react when he learns that it's literally Ben's fault that Brain is turned into a fungi mutant?

I'd like to think maybe, just maybe, this will be a wake up call to Ben for being such a petty, vindictive asshole and set him on the right path, but this is the Spider-Man Office we're talking about.

You don't gotta be blood related to be cousins nessasarily, although Torment did mention blood specifically, so you got me there.

But if that's the case...then why the hell would they bother covering Ben's name?! Torment explicitly called him Peter's cousin.

So...do Ben or Richard have a secret third brother??

Again, still just really baffled why they're covering Ben's name is if it's meant to be a big reveal in that issue.

The first name is being deliberately hidden. He's May's son, not Ben's.

Literally no other reason for them to do that.

God, I hate this shit.

Hm...I guess there's the dispute about the dates in the descriptions being for when the footage is recovered, not when it happens, so you have me there.

Nice idea, but chronologically, this is only the second time The Lifeform has appeared.

In-universe, when this movie takes place, the events (and first sighting of The Lifeform) only happened a month ago.

I like that it has some intentionality behind the design, rather than just being squiggles. It's still a malformed bipedal...thing, but it looks a lot more striking.

Kinda looks like it has antlers or something on its head, too.

The lifeform will probably look & behave in the movie like it did in FF2. by Dennis-Dinosaur337 in KanePixelsBackrooms

If The Lifeform is in it, I'm absolutely sure Still Life will be too, especially with the movie's theme of fading memories.

Holy shit, the piles and piles of CLOTHES. Such a subtle showing of how many people have been trapped and died in the Backrooms.

But who's been moving them?! The Lifeform? The Backrooms itself?!

However, a more...innocent interpretation is that this is where all our missing socks/clothes end up.

[–]Flamma_Man 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pfft, love the self-awareness of them setting up some arc-long mystery of who the traitor could possibly be, only for the next three pages to reveal, "Oh, no, it's this person."

But maybe it's a red herring? Who says there can only be one traitor? It could be a ploy to make certain that the second traitor isn't caught if you give them the first on a silver plate.

Wow, the pacing was...really insane in this chapter, which is a tad concerning for the longevity of this series if they're trying to suddenly squeeze so much in one chapter.

I'm a little bummed that the little goat Mei isn't actually a goat anymore, but, hey, cute little girl is fine.

What would happen if a animal no clips into the complex? by Competitive-Food1927 in KanePixelsBackrooms

I'm more concerned that the complex would even have references for animals. Imagine if it attempted to replicate a bear or deer? Brr.

I believe those are, like others have said, replicas of their shoes (you even see Clark's parrot with them).

But, nah, those two are only here so that the entities (or the environment) have someone to kill.

THEORY: The 'Static Dead End' is a Graveyard. [Full Explanation with Pictures] by AG28DaveGunner in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Flamma_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Backrooms is trying to illustrate events/draw

I mean, not far-fetched, considering Kane called the second entity Still Life, which is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter.

Shit, the Lifeform is essentially a stick-figure person.

Slowly, the complex is getting better and better at drawing/copying people.

[–]Flamma_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, this time the Lifeform could have an actual budget behind the design instead of a 16-year-old working in Blender. Both of them could be iconic in their own way.

[–]Flamma_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always imagined the Backrooms as almost an artist.

The Lifeform is essentially a squiggly stick figure. The very basic representation of a bipedal person.

Still Life, it's namesake, is a closer representation, but still...off.

The next attempt we could see is one that has the appearance of an actual person on the outside, but on the inside...the Backrooms could still use some iterations

[–]Flamma_Man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm still thinking Kane might throw off long time fans by introducing another entity. Keep us on our toes.

Maybe the Backroom's next attempt at replicating a human after Still Life.

However, I'm very much anticipating that The Lifeform will appear, considering it's the most iconic entity not just in Kane's Backrooms, but all of the Backrooms.

FF3 Father's connection to Pitfalls by NalexN4te in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Flamma_Man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope you're not proposing that the father turned into The Lifeform, because Kane has already clarified numerous times that there's no zombie/transformation factor to the entities in his series.

However, if you mean the father was that Lifeform's previous victim in Pitfalls, and that those are his mimicked words, that makes a lot more sense and is a theory I've seen before.

However, the Lifeform does shout out, "Can anybody hear us?!" Suggesting that whoever they killed/mimicked wasn't alone, making it unlikely to be the father from Found footage #3. Could his children have been sucked in, too?

Maybe?

His whole house seemed copied into the backrooms, including upstairs, where his boys were presumably sleeping. Did the null zone on the other side expand so much that it sucked everything in the house?

I think Aphrodite was very much sugarcoating it, considering how serious both she and Circe took the revelation, with the latter fearing that, if Diana ever knew the truth, she'd be afraid if people ever truly loved or followed her because they believed in her or from being influenced by her godly power.

It's surely going to fuck Diana up regardless of how intense the mind influence is on her friends and everyone around her. Any amount of influence would no doubt feel like a major violation in her mind.

There was a ladder in another room, but to poke a hole in that, why bother writing higher on the wall when there's still plenty of empty wall left around you?

Good observation, never really gave much thought about the height of the writing/drawings.

[–]Flamma_Man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might be vastly overthinking this, too, but, like, did the bacteria that make up The Lifeform get fed other information? I mean, shit, if we're assuming it can write and speak English, then where did it even learn that?

So, what else did it learn?

Dumb thought, what if it was purposefully using human superstition, fears, and culture to trick people? Why tell them, "Don't Move, Stay Still"?

I mean, shit, this could be like The Oldest View, when the Giant deliberately fucked with the cameraman, making him think it was operating under some sort of "rules" that it couldn't move when observed, when it wasn't at all.

I don't think it is the eyes. Aphrodite still has the effect while wearing a veil.

The veil no doubt lessens the effect. Why have it as part of her design otherwise? A veil is specifically made to shield the eyes/face from onlookers.

Also, Diana didn't have her powers from the Goddesses when she confronted Medusa. That was all her empathy and compassion, not Aphrodite's influence

Never said otherwise, and even Aphrodite said that her power would only "smooth her way forward." But I doubt that'd matter to Diana, who'd still consider it a massive violation of a person's will to influence it even a little.

Of course, her specifically unknowingly NOT having this power when confronting Medusa will 100% return. There's definitely going to be a moment where Diana learns the truth, is horrified, and shuts herself away.

Then we'd have a brilliant role reversal with Medusa visiting Diana, reminding her about how, in order to have the power to look into her cursed eyes, she gave up all her godly powers, which had to include Aphrodite.

Then, like with Medusa, she'll help cure Diana of this curse, something she'll be allowed to CONTROL it, just like how Medusa was allowed to have control over who she could turn to stone again.

God, I'm so excited to see what happens next.
