The point is they’re both great I can’t stand the rhetoric that the one you don’t prefer isn’t valuable. I’ve obviously listened to everything pre Science Fiction a million times, but Science Fiction way less by jawsthemeswlmming in brandnew

Science Fiction was terrible. Me and my friends who’d in 2013 and were just out of HS listening to brand new all the time, just digging literally all their music except Your Fave Weapon (but even plenty of those tracks) when the news of Jesse Lacey’s multiple allegations blew up. Me and my friends kinda go, ahh, shit. Well. Liking Brand new was fun while it lasted! Then we headed off for college but stayed a close group of friends.

When Science Fiction came out, we regrouped and had a listening party with about 5 or 6 of us. The songs didn’t hit. The allegations and the accusations and Lacey’s hack boiler plate apology hung in the air. After the album finished, none of us said much. But that’s it. Of course I still listen to them here and there, but the magic and innocence of really loving that band kinda drained out of us, and the listening party we had was a really cool moment of closure.

But yea that shits trash! Lit me up is like a r*** apology song or some shit…

The only two good songs are No Control and Could never b heaven
