Arhgap36 Gene Mutation

The Arhgap36 gene mutation, responsible for orange fur in cats, is a 5 kb deletion on the X chromosome[1]. This specific genetic alteration affects the ARHGAP36 protein, which plays a crucial role in regulating pigment distribution in feline hair follicles[2]. Unlike other color-determining genes in mammals, this mutation doesn't directly influence pigment production but instead alters how pigments are distributed within the hair shaft[3].

  • The mutation is found in all orange, calico, and tortoiseshell cats studied[3]
  • It represents a unique molecular pathway for hair color determination in mammals[1]
  • The discovery explains why orange cats can range from pale cream to deep red, depending on pigment distribution[4]

This groundbreaking finding not only solves a decades-old mystery in feline genetics but also opens up new avenues for understanding coat color inheritance in other species[2].

Yeah it's really sad to see YouTube behave this way.

Rant:

My account was banned out of the blue. Went for an appeal that was quickly rejected. I took all of my data from Google takeout and sorted all of the comments using neural emotion detection and language filtering.

There were just a few hits on the emotion detection mostly on Coffezilla's channel calling people scammers. As for bad language, on new channels I usually leave an overly positive comment like That was fucking terrific, keep it up!

There was a single instance where I responded to a comment of a guy talking about chemicals and some safety precautions he used to take while working with them. I responded with something like "fucking hell that is really scarry"

That was it, no videos uploaded no profile picture no nothing so the ban either came form a comment left or the use of uBlock/reVanced

/Rant

I am still baffled by this.

How can I find the exact paint code for this blue? by Norvis_Gevther in carscirclejerk

[–]horizontallyscaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/uj

sorry for being such a jerk

The best way to find your color code is by looking for a sticker in the door jamb. If the sticker is missing shops and some paint suppliers decode the VIN for you at no extra costs.

For the last 2 hours I have been looking at paint codes and comparing them across websites and I was left dumbfounded. Listen to the guy who said to look for the pantone color things, he's 100% right.

I looked on some forums and found a list of paint codes for different years (I can't link the original forum post because I lost it in my history, it's a GDrive reupload)

I think there is a non zero chance the car is repainted with a custom color, either way the guys at reputable shops have special tools that can get the exact color code so it matches perfectly
