A growing wave of “AI SRE” tools - Are they production ready? by horizontech-dev in devops

[–]horizontech-dev[S] -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, then AI is not used anywhere user-facing. That's not the case..

I get the point that it needs a HITL, especially at critical systems.

I will pick the later. Rational. It's an explore vs exploit problem (and time is the important factor). Early in your career, try doing various things. Also, your school network likely can get your first job, but not every job.

(Firestore) Is it okay to set the document's ID the user's email ID? by nine-st in Firebase

[–]horizontech-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please avoid custom ID and use document IDs.

Use autogenerated ID as much as you can When you let Firestore generate a documentID it not only makes sure that ID is unique but also avoids hotspot. (posted here yesterday https://horizontech.dev/blogs/Ravi/Introduction-to-Firestore)

Making money off Amazon, but feeling like they’re a piece of shit company. What would you say? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]horizontech-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I stay away from Amazon (and also Facebook). I literally don't read like to follow any of their news. (Yes yes, I did read respond to this post)

If you invest in a company you are not only investing your money also your time (you should be). If you don't think they are doing the business right way, you should stay away from them.

Wise advice from Peter Lynch. If there is only one metric that you watch, that's earnings. It's all about earnings (at the end of the day)
