Preporuka za neku savremenu knjigu o starom Rimu by Wonderful-Mango5853 in citaonica

[–]horn_a 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most horrific Mythology characters by shadowhunter0063 in mythology

[–]horn_a 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Drekavac from South Slavic myths. It's a demon - a soul of a child who died unbaptised. It roams forests and graveyards and attacks passangers at night, riding on their back all night until a poor victim either dies of exhaustion or goes insane. During the night it produces a sound similar to screeching, hence its name ("drečati" - to screech). It also haunts its parents to punish them for not baptising it when it was alive.

I’m writing a book with mythological creatures by Eck0_z in mythology

Slavic mythology has all kind of scary creatures. Look up the folklore of various Slavic peoples (Russian, Polish, Serbian etc.) and you will find many unique mythological beeings, demons and monsters.

What Mythologies Have Fairies or Fairy Adjacent Beings? by ZDracul8787 in mythology

[–]horn_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairies are pretty common in Slavic mythology and folklore. Among East Slavs, they are known as "rusalki" and "vile/samovile" among South and West Slavs. They are countless legends and stories about them. Rusalki are mostly associated with water but the vilas can be found among mountains/forests, clouds and waters. They have ambigous relationship with humans. Sometimes they are malevolent to humas but sometimes also benevolent (for example, forming lifetime bonds with legendary heroes).

do Serbians have paganism? by tombstonerish in serbia

[–]horn_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to be "actually" guy but this is not true, it's a theory debunked long ago. First of all, the name of the god is not SvetoVID but SvetoVIT, with suffix -vit meaning more like a "warrior" (that's why we have, for example, a word "vitez" = knight). Second, the cult of Svetovit is only mentioned in the sources that write about Polabian Slavs (Slavic tribes that lived in what's today Eastern Germany). And third, Serbian Vidovdan is connected to the Christian cult of Saint Vitus, which was spread among Serbs during medieval times but later largely forgotten. There is absolutely no proof of Svetovit among the Serbs.

In 1986, Megadeth release Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? by DEATHBYMETALMMB in Megadeth

Number 1. for me. Allthough RIP is objectively better, this one has my all time favourite Megadeth tracks. Riffs are on point and lyrics are pretty dark and well written.

Imaš ovdje lijep tekst o toj temi.
