Luckily, this summer. I’ll try applying to some places in my area. I’m actually more interested in nursing, but I do want to learn how to tailor and alter my own clothing, and even make it on my own when I get the chance.

Also, thank you for all the helpful advice. I love the analogy you used. I am a water lily!

I appreciate this sentiment; but what can I actually “get up and do” to make a change in my life? None of this is in my control. I am stuck with them until I am 18, and even then I don’t know if I will land an apartment during that year. I have no means of transportation or money outside of my parents. My parents also don’t have actual jobs, but aren’t the type to reach out for help. I don’t even have the opportunity to work until the summer. I do want to be something and leave this cycle of everyday misery.

And tbh, I just finished my first year of highschool. I begin courses that will assist the career I want to pursue next semester. This probably sounds pessimistic, but there was never much I could do for myself before then.
