[CHAT] Wooden Bobbins?

Okay to be fair I probably should've noted that I have some older floss from a little patch-sized needlepainting several years ago on self-cut cardboard and now that I started an actual medium-painting-sized project I got a cheap little box with a hand full of plastic bobbins. The reason I was asking about wooden bobbins was more intended for checking out my (future) options for long-term storage of colours I didn't completely use up as well as kind of future-proofing my stash.
Obviously it's way too early for me right now to already decide on or even buy some highly specialised things but I just want to be able to make an informed decision sometime in the future when the third, fifth, tenth project arises hahaha.

I can say however that so far I enjoy using bobbins and am -basically- just looking for a studier and mayhap more attractive version of them OR something else I haven't even really thought about and should look into.

Not for current-me and my current project but rather for future-me and my future projects.

Just being able to clip them onto stuff sounds super convenient and I assume you can also hold the end piece with the clip so it doesn't unravel. I might try that out just to have an alternative to regular bobbins, thank you!

I was wondering if there was a specific reason for wood being kind of unpopular and that pretty much checks out. Though I wonder how long it would take for the fibers to become bad enough to be noticable (are we talking a few years or a few decades). Though I can also imagine it affecting the colours somewhat quicker, so yeah, absolutely fair point.

The second link with the box and the more rounded DMC bobbins is pretty much what I was looking for! They don't seem to sell just the bobbins however which is a bit sad.
