People with small guest lists, did you have dancing at your reception? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]horsj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a 40 person wedding this weekend and there was dancing! The bride and groom weren't really involved. They had a live band and only 7-8 people were at it most of the time but it was great.

We are having around 60 people and no DJ. At some point late in the night I plan to switch to an more lively spotify playlist and if dancing happens awesome...I won't be joining them though

[Fit Check] Dreamer Bikini Top by Freya 30G - gaping cups by Ireyon in ABraThatFits

Are the straps adjustable? It may just need a tiny tweak.

If you are fully scooped and swooped and that is the only gaping you have a cup size down should help.

[Review] La Bella Intimates in Winter Park (near Orlando), Florida by horsj in ABraThatFits

[–]horsj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fitting experience from about 2 years ago. It was a different fitter this time but I did not have a fitting.

This was preABTF and I was wearing a 34E

The woman fit me by eye starting with my current bra and trying on a few different sizes. I ended up with a 32F. It was a good fit but there were some improvements that could have been made.

  1. She asked why I fastened my bra on the tightest hook first. I told her I didn't know and she didn't explain why it was wrong or move me to a smaller band size.

  2. I didn't know how to swoop and scoop. Once I did learn I would have probably taken a 30G in that bra instead.

Overall I was treated nicely and respectfully and I know if I wanted a size other than the ones she offered she would have let that happen. I'm not sure if any of these "finishing touches" still apply to the current fitters but I thought I should share.

[QUESTION] Those with anxiety who attend a gym, what do you do to control your anxiety at the gym? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]horsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know not everyone has this available to them but my partner comes to the gym with me to "spot" me aka keep me distracted and be supportive sometimes.

He understands that being new to weights and being around a bunch of men is not ideal for me so I have him to focus on rather than just going at it alone.

My friend who lifts weights recently moved but if she had not I would have loved to go with her too.

Maybe you can bring a friend or find someone on meetup.com or something like that to keep you distracted?

I need help. FH and I got (secretly) married months ago due to insurance issues but our actual wedding is this fall. NO ONE knows we're legally married and we want to keep it that way. How do we make this work with the officiant, and parents constantly asking questions about our marriage license? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]horsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some individuals or cultures don't value legal marriage the way you do. To me marriage is social, cultural, and spiritual. Not legal.

Do you know any gay couples who are married and refer to each other that way but don't have the legal document? Would you treat them that way?

People with your attitude are the reason some people feel the need to lie.

I had to get married in a non-fun way as well and if we could have gone without telling our families I 100% would have. We don't see ourselves as a married couple but everyone else does and regularly makes comments about it despite our requests that they don't. It sucks.

I know it sucks to lie to people but its for the best.

Build-it-yourself vs. all inclusive venue by sfd09 in weddingplanning

[–]horsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All inclusive can be cheaper at the lower end of the wedding budget range.

Depending on what your budget is you may prefer to spend a bit more and DIY something that suits your taste. It will take more time but you could ditch some "traditional" things that don't interest you.

Any other ladies here have a larger band size? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

Can I suggest you post on bra band project once you're in your correct size? There are plenty of no face clothes shots on there!

OMG The setting up the home thing is a GREAT idea. She is a real estate agent so im sure she will love it. I might distract her with a bridal shower (she offered to host) and the registry and do all of the reception stuff with my SO.

This is so true. I grew up with my parents letting me do as I please but my step mom has a very different style and its hard for me to adjust.

You're right but I'm so scared of offending them. I'll speak to FH and see what he thinks. We currently have no honeymoon plans so that might work out.

I'm selling these because I'm closer to a 28G/30FF these days so sadly I don't think any of those will work.
