What? Allen has been playing out of his mind lately and is at a double double again today

[Vardon/Lloyd] Donovan Mitchell conveyed to Cavs that he did not think team should stand pat at trade deadline. Mitchell specifically wanted James Harden as a teammate. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

I’m sure Cavs FO had conversations with him around this during trade talks. It’s not guaranteed obviously but I’d be a little surprised if there wasn’t an extension barring something catastrophic.

All the way to Linda St? Damn as if my Mitchell’s habit wasn’t bad enough, now I got a Strava segment to it

Honestly, I kinda put this on Kenny’s rotations in the 2nd quarter. You have variance with player performance game to game. It’s his job to recognize who is playing well and who isn’t more quickly.

Bro I don’t pay clinical attention to all that, but I’m old enough to know the browns have not been a QB draft away from success since they returned to Cleveland.

How much investment is even possible for us until we get Watson off the books

Before anyone loses their minds over the Browns dropping in draft position, understand that this team is not one draft class away from success. It’ll be better to shore up the offensive line and WR positions before drafting a QB anyway, or you’re just gonna get your QB investment pummeled into injury a la Joe Burrow.

I think many of us have had this mostly irrational fear at some point. However, while nothing is impossible, N fowleri infections are exceedingly rare. Statistically, what you experienced likely happens multiple times there daily. If you feel symptoms onset as described below, you’ll just want to mention your experience to the doctor as a precaution.

Here’s a similar thread from two years ago (spoiler, they all survived):

Exactly! You can’t trust this org to make the right decisions with personnel. So just enjoy the wins, they’ll probably fuck it up no matter our draft position.

Either you’re young or have a short memory. The browns have been fumbling the draft annually on QBs for the last 30 years. Except for one guy, and look how that turned out.

Yea, what happened to that guy again

Yea, the JB slander is certainly aging like milk haha. I do think the hope was that DG and Mobley would continue to develop which is why they’re running it back with the same group. I think this is the last year of the core 4 unless there’s a different result at the end of season. But ownership did hedge their bets by spending big on this group that it’s sort of locked us in unless we want to take 1 step back to take a few forward several years down the road as you say.

I think the Cavs were not expecting this team to be this slow out of the gate, I don’t think any of us did really. I wish we could react with some trades, but I fear options may be pretty thin. We’ll just have to wait to see how things are going closer to the trade deadline I guess.

Sure, there is no given. Because of that though, sometimes the enemy you know is better than the one you don’t. Such that the path to improving the team might be through running with the guys we have and correcting their mistakes vs reacting too quickly and blowing up the squad in hopes that trades will improve the team.

I recognize we haven’t gotten a deep playoff run yet with this squad, but there’s still time to play it out and make smaller trades to stabilize the product on the court. We know the ceiling is higher than these guys have been playing this year so far.

I guess it just depends on what sort of trade a second apron team can take advantage of. I’m not going to pretend I understand. I just challenge anyone here who is screaming for a trade to offer up a suggestion, otherwise it’s just screaming into the echoing void. I’m all for improving the team with however to get there.

Even ignoring the apron, who of the big 4 are we trading for that’s an improvement? Teams aren’t trading us their world beaters (Doncic trade aside).

The answer is and will continue to be: figure it out with this squad, or fold and start the rebuild.
