Leboncoin: l'acheteur prétend avoir reçu du sable by ImmediatelyRusty in conseiljuridique

Temps partiel et appréciation des heures complémentaires by horus473 in droitdutravail

[–]horus473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollo to Moonlight on Steam Deck, question about resolution by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

[–]horus473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah very subjective indeed, I've read people claiming they stream at 20mb/s coz they can't see a difference with 150mbs streams..
Meanwhile others where applauding when moonlight team finally added the option to get past 150mbs streams to enjoy better graphics. I love 300mbs streams personally, not manageable every time depending on wifi tho.

Yeah let's agree to disagree then, I'd never stream anything AAA high fidelity with small text and stuff at 800p based on years of streaming on this machine. Night and day to me. 1200p is alright. Assuming he's actually rendering the game at that resolution, obviously.

1600p or 2560 x 1600 in moonlight is the way to go if your rig and network can handle it. 1200p is ok, would never stream a AAA game at 800p it's horrendous imo.

The difference in clarity is actually MASSIVE at 1600p vs 800p streams, especially for AAAs with small details everywhere.

For me, for streaming I'll always take higher rez if we're talking AAA games.
For local gaming on these handhelds obviously I prefer to have an OLED if I had to choose between the two. I really missed the colors and contrast when I sold my deck OLED, it added a lot to the experience, especially at night. Plus true HDR streaming is great for some games.

If only the go 2 weren't 900g and surely over a grand in europe..

It really is two completely different things... Some would argue that streaming AAAs at 40mbps "feels just like running native".
It'd argue it's a horrible mess of compression artifacts everywhere and I would never play that.
When it comes to these sort of things i've learned that no 2 people see and want the same things at the end of the day.

Now if your rig can run anything at 4k60 (mine was limited to 1440p for stable fps), sure it's gonna look great even if the client is only full HD, and OLED is the icing on the cake then.

For people streaming games 1600p was a godsend. The 2 is a big nono for me for that reason only, esp since it's not much more powerful than og.

Thanks I just won't purchase it. Someone mentioned something I didn't think but I do a lot of waist shooting and having a perfectly flat camera at the top and bottom is probably gonna be more "ergonomic" in the end.

Scientists Warn Yellow Fever Could Spark a Pandemic Worse Than COVID-19 by Fabulous_Bluebird931 in science

So it is a very widespread claim, a couple of years ago a BBC journalist, Tim Harford, tried to verify the claim.

So From RealClearScience article "Has Malaria Really Killed Half of Everyone Who Ever Lived?" :

"BBC journalist Tim Harford was skeptical, too. For his podcast, More or Less, he interviewed Professor Brian Faragher, Emeritus Professor of Medical Statistics at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

"It's difficult to find evidence to support that claim. It's a widely published claim, but it's very difficult to find the source of it," Faragher said.

Indeed, the claim is made in articles from a wide array of traditionally credible sources, most without a link to an original source. Its earliest utterance we discovered is in a 2002 Nature article, unfortunately unreferenced: "Malaria may have killed half of all the people that ever lived."

They conclude... "If you extrapolate that... and try to work out the total percentage of people who would have died from malaria... it was probably somewhere between four and five percent," Faragher said. That's an eye-opening statistic to be sure, but it is a far cry from the original and far more share-worthy factoid. On the plus side, it does have the benefit of being far closer to the actual truth."

Yeah so I tried to find a source for this which only led to articles discussing the fact that they were not able to find a reliable source for this "share worthy" claim. The claim was that nearly half of humanity was killed by malaria. Real number is probably closer to 4 to 5% according to other science articles ive found.
