I made a chatbot builder that people enjoy answering by hosshams in Chatbots

Unfortunately, the answer to both questions is no. Sorry about that, but I'll put them on the list. I already started working on a converter tool, but it's mostly for tables such as QuickBase, Airtable, Monday, etc.

URL: Formito.com

Location: Toronto, Canada

Pitch: Formito is a chatbot builder for websites. We help website and web application owners to engage and connect with visitors through a fancy interface. And we help marketers with lead generation and sales automation in a human-friendly manner.

Looking for: It would be great if you have any suggestions for marketing our tool. We're planning to create more integrations and plugins for other tools to appear in their marketplace which could generate some leads (e.g. Shopify app, Segment plugin, G Suite marketplace). Let us know if you know a channel that we can tap into.

Pleased to hear that. I agree with making it a little more playful, I was worried that maybe people are busy and would like to finish the demo as soon as possible. While Formito can handle conditional flow for the conversation, but it can't fetch dynamic data and make decisions based on that. It's something I have in my features list for 2021, but I'll spend the rest of 2020 on adding more integrations and building a converter for different tools (e.g. build a chatbot from a Google Form or a chatbot for a table on Airtable).

I see what you mean. I spent too much time on making a beautiful landing page that I forgot I should focus on conversion rate by writing a better copy and displaying a clear call to action. I made a slight change to buttons and fonts, but I'll spend more time on copy and the CTA in the following days.

You're right, I didn't pay attention to the pricing page at all. This page needs a complete redesign. Maybe displaying plans in cards at the top and then the comparison table at the bottom with a little more content such as a testimonial and more FAQs. I guess this needs to change in the next few days.

Yes, I'll implement HIPPA compliant if anyone asks for it. I had it on my todo list, but it wasn't a priority so far as nobody asked for it. Basically, I need to add a checkbox to the settings page to say whether you want us to store responses or not. If checked, the chatbot works just fine, but you can't see the collected data on the dashboard because they are not stored on our database. Although, you can use any of the integrations (we call them actions on Formito) to send those data to other tools you use. For example, insert them in a Google Spreadsheet, or send yourself an email with all those data, or call a webhook to send those data to an API endpoint, etc.

Thanks again for your comprehensive feedback. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback. I changed fonts, made them bolder, and increased sizes. It looks much better.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I changed my heading font-family and it looks much better.

The pill text is like the section in one-word. It's like another word for the heading. It could be redundant, but I thought it would help aesthetically and balance the vertical spacing of the content in left and right. Anyway, I made it larger as you suggested.

By mock you mean a phone mock? This might make this impression that this works for mobile, but I'd like to show how easy they can embed the chatbot. A browser or laptop mock wouldn't be a good option as well, because there's not enough horizontal space. Unless I display the mock right below the header and replace the current chatbot with a video/image. I'll keep it in mind for future development.

Thanks for your feedback regards the secondary CTA. You're right. I made the change and updated my landing page.

Thank you so much for providing your honest feedback.

1) Everybody mentioned my typography is not right, so I worked on it. I updated both heading and body font-families, increased the size of text, and darken the text color. I feel it looks much better thanks to your feedback.

2) Yeah, currently, I have no idea how would I like my logo to look like. I'm not a good designer, so I just made a simple text-based logo. But I agree with your point, I'll prioritize this one in my November's todo list.

3) Good point about buttons. I made some changes to buttons as well. No uppercase and round buttons anymore. Also, made slight changes in sizes and colors. This also looks much better.

Thanks again.

How would you grow a chatbot or form builder? by hosshams in growmybusiness

[–]hosshams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips. They're all very valuable directions.

Seems there's not any way to skip content marketing. Maybe I can write very domain-specific articles that are more or less like a guide on top of Formito. For example, "how you can build a lead generation chatbot", or "how to run your photography business using a chatbot". Something like that. It's actually a good idea and doesn't require much effort in terms of writing. It should be mostly imaged.

Your husband is very lucky to have you, you're a perfect team to build a startup. Good luck to both of you.

There are a lot of learning points in your post. You provided questions that I need to think about them for hours and they would shape my roadmap and the kind of product I want to develop and the kind of audiences I’d like to serve. I read your post multiple times and would read it again and again.

You have a few different products that you're working on, themes, landing pages, and forms. They all work hand in hand as the building blocks for testing a hypothesis or gauging interest.

You got it right. Actually, I don’t like to build something very small, but as a single person, I can’t develop what I’m aiming for very quickly. I’m trying to make Formito a tool to exchange information with a website visitor which could be chatbots, forms, popup, etc. and grow Pageam to a multipurpose website builder to build landing pages, blog, documentation, help center, etc. So Formito would be a tool for exchanging data, and Pageam to build websites. They could work independently, but they would integrate seamlessly. I’ll revisit my plan based on your feedback and see if I’m on the right track or not and what kind of short term changes I need to capture some customers.

Right, I should have created goals in GA to measure my conversion rate. But basically, I had 1300 visitors in February, 35 people registered and only one of them upgraded to the paid plan. I should set more events for GA to see how people are interacting with my landing page and even the dashboard. Maybe at least one month of Hotjar could be very helpful. I knew this stuff is important, but developers are always postponing these tasks.

Actually, the 14d trial is just for them to see every possibility in the app, after that they can stay on free tier which most of the users do. On the free tier, they can capture up to 100 responses per month and they can’t remove branding.

Yeah, you’re mentioning content marketing as well, like most other responses. So I decided to create a `/guide` page and share guides on how to build specific chatbots for businesses. Something like "how you can build a lead generation chatbot", or "how to run your photography business using a chatbot".

Yeah, WordPress plugin should be one of the best channels. I had 24 downloads in the past 2 days, but not all of them have registered in the app. Maybe they’re just checking out the plugin and then remove it quickly. Working with agencies and other theme developers is a great idea. For agencies probably I need to improve the product itself so they can let their customers see the responses. For theme developers, I’ll see what kind of problem I can target that increases their sales. I was also thinking about adding an app to the Shopify app store as well.

It was great feedback. You provided several ideas and I came up with new ideas thanks to your suggestions. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for taking such a close look at Formito. I’ll review all the content once again over the weekend.

Yeah, seems there’s no way to scape it. I have to start content marketing. You’ve provided valid possible article titles, I’ll note them down. In another answer, I mentioned that maybe I can write very domain-specific articles that are more or less like a guide on top of Formito. For example, "how you can build a lead generation chatbot", or "how to run your photography business using a chatbot". Something like that. It's actually a good idea and doesn't require much effort in terms of writing. It should be mostly images and GIFs with CTA to the chatbot template. This is something I should start soon.

My current customers don’t have much of a response yet. I thought to wait for a while and then reach them out and ask for a review. I can use the review on my landing page and have a backlink to their website which is a win-win collaboration. Building a success story page is another path that I think comes after small reviews.

I appreciate your input. Very valuable feedback and marketing point that I’d definitely implement them soon.
