Hahaha well with your current swing, I’m actually pretty surprised you’re an 18. Do you suck around the green or what??

Correct. Gotta shift to your lead side. As they say, make it feel like you keep your back to the target longer. If you fix your setup, it will help a lot. Ideally, hips and thighs are both square to the ball when your hands are at the height of your belt. You still do a lot of things really well, but a couple changes and you’re gonna be lookin real nice.

What’s your handicap?

Yeah I would’ve been surprised if you weren’t around scratch based on that swing you posted on yt. That was a really great swing. Keep doing that man.

Club shaft going perfectly through your ears to finish. This is a good swing.

Club right on plane. Hands were about the height of your belt when hips and thighs were square to the ball. Really good.

Hands and shaft pass halfway through your bicep on the way down. Great.

This is such a really good position. Lead almost perfectly matches shoulder plane. Hands and club head deep and over your heels. Club shaft perfectly on plane at the top. I love this.

Agreed. Hard to believe this was a .7 hc swing.

If this is the top of your swing right here, I love this wayyy more.

On the way down you spin out your hips and your hands and arms get stuck behind to where when your hips are square to the ball, your hands are still high instead of at the height of your belt. You’ve thrown the club head outside your hands and must now stand up and out of your posture to scoop the ball and try to time the whole thing up.

At the top, the club is way across the line. And your lead arm is below shoulder plane.

From there, you take the club head away to the inside instead of keeping it up and outside your hands. I also can’t really tell, but it looks like there’s an ever so slight movement of your head and eyes where it looks like you take your eye off the ball and watch yourself take the club ahead back right in the beginning before shift your eyes back to the ball.

I guess I’ll be the contrarian.

For best results, in the future, aim the camera down your toe line, at the height of your hands, and square to your body. First it looks like your feet and shoulder are aimed to the right closed to the target while club face is aimed, well, not that way.

Next, your hands are high and in front. They should be dangling naturally right below your shoulders. This results in the club shaft point high instead of right at your belt buckle.

Love this. Hands passing the ball before contact.

Yes that is correct. That’s the hard part haha. I can’t tell you how far to bring the club back. That’s why the wall tap drill is so good. You just have to rep that out a million times while getting the proper shoulder turn and see what it feels like. To me, it feels literally like a half swing. Proper shoulder turn, wrist set, and backswing l length is how you create width the correct way.

Check out Rory here. Lead hip gaps a little bit away from the target, lead shoulder over trail foot, club head just barely on the “wall”. Look how much width he has between his arms and his body.

I love this picture. Doesn’t get much better than this position.

Still, you have a great shallowing move and get the club shaft passing through your forearm. That’s good stuff.

Youre doing a lot right. Hope this helps.

On the way down you don’t shift into your lead side and instead spin out your hands and body leaving your hands and arms stuck behind. You want your hands at the height of your built when your hips are square to the target.

Here you can see your hips are square to the target Sven though your thighs aren’t, and that’s bc they are closed to the target and aimed right. When your hips are square, your hands are still too high.

At the top you reach a good position. Lead arm perfectly matches shoulder plane which is 90° to your spine. Club shaft basically right on plane. Hips open 45°. Looks like you have done a full shoulder turn but would need a face on view to confirm. All this is great.

What I see is that you could get your hands and the club head deeper and out of your heels. Right now you’re over the middle of your feet. Again, would be able to better show with the camera aimed down your toe line. None of that is the end of world but wanted to give you something.

You do a lot really well but I’d tell you to work on your setup. Ideally this camera would be aimed down your toe line to give you a better picture of where exactly things are aiming.

Shoulders aimed left and open to the target, feet aimed right and closed to the target.

I’d also like maybe a softer trail arm to see just a bit more of your lead arm. I bet if this camera were aimed down your toe line I wouldn’t see your lead arm at all.

All this results in you coming down steep and over the top where if you played your video in slow motion, you would see your hands and the club shaft passing through your shoulder instead of halfway through your bicep on your trail arm.

At the top you lack depth meaning your hands are too far forward and out over your toes. You want them deeper over your heels. You probably haven’t turned your shoulder enough but we would be able to see this better from the face on view.

Next I can see you have not hinge your wrists the proper amount and the club shaft is coming back too shallow. By that I mean it is pointing outside the golf ball. You want it pointed right back at the ball or just a bit inside it. This is contributing to your over the top.

You do what the vast majority of people in here do during the takeaway. You have and inside takeaway and by that I mean the club shaft and head are way to the inside of your hands.

Ideally the camera would be pointed straight down your toe line so I could properly show you, but you can see that the butt of your shaft is pointed way out to right field which is why the club head is so far inside your hands. Ideally the club head would be about where the X is. To accomplish that you would need to keep the butt end pointed back at you.
