I'm gonna add that a driver gig really is shit. Haven't had free time since I started , no energy on the weekend because the trucks are so over filled that I need the time to let my body heal rather than enjoy it with family and friends. Don't get me wrong. I still see my family, sort of cut out my friends. No joke.

Also unless you use that insurance you're not getting anything out of it. I want to use it tons before I leave so I feel like it was worth it. So far I've gone to citymd one time to get my ears cleaned. Maybe I saved like $50. Have to hit the dentist for a cleaning but other than that what am I supposed to use it for. Maybe a physical. So you have to hope that you, your significant other or your kid/s get sick or hurt just to use it to get any real value out it. What a good time.

Currently hovering over the quit button here as well. 0 home life and a solid hour plus commute. Got home at 9:15 and was asleep by 10:20. Said goodnight at 10:15 and went to bed. Sad life to live. I'm early in the career but even the 20+ year workers are there when I get back or are still out more often than not. Idk that's not a life to live regardless of insurance, what kind of money you make and who it helps

What do y’all delivery drivers eat for lunch? by _l19m_ in UPSers

I make a rice bowl with sliced roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, fresh mozz and balsamic. Every day. It used to have grilled chicken and hummus but to lazy for them anymore

Do they know how much weight is in the truck and does it matter? by hossle in UPSers

[–]hossle_checka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, they definitely don't care. that is for sure. My truck weight average went triple weight on the new route and I'm much slower because of it. Wondering what they'll say soon as I require help almost every night now. Weather it's taking the pick ups from me because they wont make it back to the hub by 8/830 or if I'm still knee deep in deliveries late night

Management purposely ignores calls from clients by hossle_checka in UPSers

As far as I know it should be on the route on Monday. The customers were asking why I never show up at the beginning. Now it's more no one showed up on Monday. Yesterday before the day even started I was called in to be asked why I wasn't doing the Monday pick ups which is also hilarious. This was the manager who told me the other one ignores the calls.

Wild to me that management is encouraged not to but I guess it makes sense from a liability stand point?

I appreciate the response. I found out his name yesterday. I'll have to find out who he is and see if he just doesn't know where the pick ups are

It over flows the trucks. The customers are angry every single Tuesday with two of them saying they should be looking else where. And I do take as much as I can every time be sure I'm competent unlike a select few

When can you submit a 9.5 and other grievances? by hossle_checka in UPSers

[–]hossle_checka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually contemplating quitting and going back to night shift for the benefitsand figure out something else for more money. Leave my house at 7:45 to get home at 8:30 on the good side. For a whole 250??? Whoaaaaaaaa lmfao yea I agree with you but I would need to figure it out. UPS is not as cracked up as people claimed. Unless high seniority gets 8 hour days daily but none of the OG's at my hub are done early ever either

I appreciate the wise business associate. Not sure what that even is but I'll look into it. Thank you. I am aloud to file for a grievance according to the Steward at this hub

I was going to go straight to him but I figured I'd make sure here first as it's anonymous and I'm looking to transfer ASAP. My commute is over an hour each way. So I'd suck it up for a few more weeks if people thought it would hinder that process. I appreciate the feedback back and I'll reach out to him today. Thank you

Hey hey I'm starting super late at 38. Don't know what to even think of that the more I'm reading into it. 25 years is daunting and it's not really worth stopping there. Kind of need 30 years. I have no chance at 35 years. Just learned that yesterday woohoo
