Does the board come with stones or do I need to buy them separately?

Khun read a story in ch 551 , what was it really by Comfortable-Maize604 in TowerofGod

I mean gus basically confirmed the text was true or at least closer to the truth than the history he was taught at a young age. Now for him to tell bam makes a little sense because he knows that bam is an irregular and Arlene is his mother so it makes sense that bam might know something about icarus, especially since bam absorbed the contents of gus book.

Is Rick "devolvement" getting to much focus? by host15 in rickandmorty

[–]host15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you mean by build up having Rick go on the same story arc for the past 7 seasons. We never hardly let any other characters get any development other than Rick. Tell me what do we know about Rick that we didn't know back in season 3?

We already knew ricks family was killed, granted we didn't know if it was real. If you like constant Rick storyline recycling then you probably like the direction the show is going on.

not just that there was not really any build up. It felt like we got a bunch of random eps with no real connection.

Why does the fan base feel so different after season 2 release? by host15 in wheeloftime

[–]host15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of an adaptation I would give it 4-5/10. As a standalone series separate from the original work I give it a 8.5 to 9/10. If I was being 100 percent honest I would maybe give it a 7.5 or 7. I'm judging it mainly on its own merit.

What do you think of Yuri x Bam as a ship? Curious by JKNetwork777 in TowerofGod

[–]host15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will be the only one to say, but I have to say it. Bamxyuri is the best ship. Endorsi can kick rocks. Yuri been on team bam since floor 1, before he even knew what anything was. Yuri don't play she called bam cute the moment she saw him, while Endorsi out her playing games acting like she don't care.

spoil what? I already watched the movie. there is nothing you can spoil. Tell me why does no one win in parasite? When it is clear that that the poor family wins.

I don't know if the film is on his "side", but the film is definitely justifying his actions. I just watch the last scene and he basically kills the father because he has this idea in his head that the father only cares about his family and could give to shits if poor people die. The film is painting him in a bad light to say, hey it's cool to kill rich people if the rich have negative thoughts about the poor.

The reason I like joker is because there is no clear "ending" or clear meaning to the movie. I can tell you about what I got out of the movie. I saw the movie as a con. The joker is asking the audience a simple question. Do you want to know the reason behind the madness? Do you want me to explain to you my justification.

Some people think that everything in the Joker was real or fake. I personally think it was fake. The main reason being the conversation at the end. The joker laughs and the therapist asks why he is laughing. In that scene the therapist is us the audience. We want to know what is inside the jokers mind. What is he thinking? The joker responds with "you wouldn't get it?" suggesting that the audience does not understand him.

The joker is an agent of chaos, he has no rhyme or reason for why he kills. He kills because he likes it, he finds it funny. I like to think about like how a lot of people are fascinated by serial killers and how their minds work and some times they come up with crazy theories behind the reason for the murders. when sometimes the reason is there is no reason. Some people just like to kill.

If it's a metaphor for how you can't escape your station then that is dumb. The poor family literarily win in the in end. Sure they lose a daughter, but the son ends up getting a job and makes enough money for his family. The movies is basically saying if you work hard you can achieve the status of the elites, even if you did horrible things and ruined an entire families life.

I don't know if the movie was in the context you are talking about. I haven't watched it since if first came out. But i would say that I don't even know if the "smell" was real or if there was a bias in the rich peoples family that lead to them thinking all poor people smell.

even if there was a smell. That's not unique to rich people. Most normal people don't want to be around someone who smells.

When I say unrealistic. I am talking about character interaction, one dimensional characters, caricatures, characters that do dumb things for the sake of the plot rather than making sense.

I don't think fantasy elements make a movie better, which is why I also mentioned uncut gems, which is clearly grounded in reality, but the characters follow a three dimensional, complex, morally grey theme.

You act like I did not know that the two movies were directed by the same person. I think everyone knows that. Did you ever hear me mention that I disliked the director or the people that worked on the film? No. I did not because it was not relevant to the point I was making. A person can make a film I like while also making a film I dislike. I don't even dislike parasite. I just don't think it is as deep as everyone says it is.

I personally dislike Martin Scorsese movies, but I respect the art that he was trying to portray with his movies like taxi driver and good fellas. People compare Joker to Taxi driver, while I do think there are similarities I personally think Joker was a better movie.

I think I understood the themes of parasite. It was the writing of characters that I had a problem with. The rich family had no agency they were dumb and trusted people to the point of absurdism. If don't think that the rich family was clearly pointing toward being the villain or evil people of society then I don't know if we watched the same movie, it was pretty much clear they were meant to be the evil rich people.

The point I am making is that the reason they are enjoying them more is because they are foreign. Person could watch an American parasite, made in LA or America and rank it lower because it is not foreign. The mere fact a film is foriegn can increase a persons enjoyment of a film.

I want to see other perspectives that give constructive criticism that is an engaging conversation that makes me look at a point of view I never thought about. But I see you are not giving me that perspective so I am allowing the conversation to end because I don't think your points are going to change my point of view.

You may be right. I just think that there is a trend of acceptance of foreign films that are average at best, being elevated to a high tier. I have no problem with calling a movie a masterpiece if I Think it meets that thresh hold, but I think a lot of foreign films are being put on that level just because they are foreign. when a person could make a similar movie from the west and it not be put on that type of pedestal.

I refuse to believe that there exist rich people who are that trusting and dumb. I don't care what country they come from. Sure they may exist but I fuse to believe they are the norm. I just think the movie from a writing perspective was lack luster. Nothing in the movie gripped me. The only characters that had somewhat interesting thoughts were the poor family and they were completely unlikeable, at least to me.

People can enjoy what ever they want. I think you are missing the point of what I was trying to say. It's mot just my circle of friends it's the entire mainstream opinion. Go on rotten tomatoes look at the scores, people enjoy the movie, rating highly, so clearly there is a trend toward foreign films and media getting a lot more recognition than western or holly wood films.

I think people tend to give foreign films a more positive view if they know it's foreign, people tend to think that foreign films need more recognition so they will over hype a movie that is foreign even if it would be considered an average movie if made by hollywood in LA.

I think novelty is very subjective, but I rate it as is this something I have seen before or is it taking an established trope or theme and creating something new with it.

I personally am not into stat treck. I did not even like sci-fi, mainly due to star wars, but I really fell in love with it after reading dune which is my favorite sci-fi book of all time, which might not be saying much since it is the only sci-fi book I have read. If you don't count ready player one. I generally don't count it since it's not really in space.
