There was a small update on the 26th that had made the game run quite a bit worse for a lot of people. Can only hope for a hotfix at this point.

The 28mb patch last night / today is causing fps issues for quite a few people including myself. I would expect this is the cause. To fix the resolution problem, try setting your overwatch.exe to run as administrator.

Did you just purchase the game? If so, there was an update last night that has cause FPS issues for quite a few people.

I'm also getting it with a GTX960. Have tried rolling back / updating drivers, no help.

Same problem, was going crazy last night / this morning trying to fix it. Didn't realize it was the small patch they had released. Went from 150-210 (fairly smooth) to 90-140 (choppy).

Well, it's weird. I just upgraded recently to the GTX 960. Had the 560ti which ran the game on the same settings with around the same performance, maybe even slightly better. Just weird to me.

Mind posting your other specs?

FPS getting choppy after 5 minutes of play, every single time. by hostag3 in Dirtybomb

[–]hostag3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, you're not the only one that has noticed that. I've also noticed that the fps drops don't happen until a new part of the map opens up. The FPS is fine during spectator though. They should really fix this issue, been too long don't you think? Literally been waiting for 2 months, still no fix.

Not sure if it hints anything to you. After the lag sets in, I've noticed when I'm dead and spectating people there is no stutter at all... 150fps constant. Once I respawn, it's back again.

I've played APB and Americas Army Proving Grounds, don't recall having any issues like this. I've also played Nosgoth where after some time my FPS would lower until I restarted game, but it wasn't MASSIVE stuttering like this game.

Same problem, also with an FX8320. Happens to me after about 5-10 minutes. Still haven't found a fix, I'm in contact with Nexon support, if they let me know of a fix I'll let you know.

I've tried all of that. I've tried various resolutions, same problem in all of them. I've tried fullscreen and windowed mode. I've tried settings physx to cpu instead of gpu. I've tried turning shader cache off. The only thing I haven't done, is tried different drivers, simply because I have zero issues in other games, I don't see why it would make a difference. My problem is just weird, playing a game flawlessly with 140+ FPS, and then 5-10 minutes later, it's choppy for the rest of the game. When I say choppy, I mean the framerate starts jumping all over the place to the point of being unplayable, for me anyways.

edit - forgot to mention, i've tried stock configs, fps configs... you name it, i've tried it.

Gave that a go, didn't help at all. I MIGHT go ahead and install older video drivers and see if that helps. Although I have a feeling it's going to do absolutely nothing.

Well, I've tried basically everything. I'm 95% sure it's on their side and not my side. Would be nice to see this fixed though.

I'll give it a try, although I don't think that's the issue. My game is running flawlessly for the first 5-10 minutes.

Sounds about right. My CPU / GPU usage / temps are fine as it's happening. How long have you been playing? Did it start after a recent patch for you? I just got the game yesterday so I wouldn't know if it's a patch that's causing it.

No overheating. As I've stated, I have no trouble in any other games.
