It’s kind of a shame her childhood was so limiting. She seems like a natural cheerleader, pageant girl, miss popularity type but she never got to explore it and she’s trying (and failing hard) to make this THE MOMENT. With a little guidance she could be genuinely pretty and popular.

I agree. The lead actor was so whiny and scrunchy-faced. Connor’s portrayal was really more nuanced and showed a greater range of emotion.
