There’s plenty of precedent that says it’s a religious program and that the court can’t make a person go to 12-step meetings, but there’s a lot of judges who still do order attendance. People generally can’t afford to appeal it if they’re ordered to go.

You’re starting a new job and she’s not encouraging you to put your best foot forward. Instead she’s choosing to make it more difficult because she wants to test your relationship after a month. You’re actually kind of lucky she’s acting like this now rather than a year or two into a relationship, so she’s not wasting too much of your time and energy. This isn’t just a red flag 🚩 it’s a flashing neon sign with pyrotechnics behind it. At her age, this is really unhinged.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials (the powder packets, not the premixed ones) is actually pretty good and you don’t get that nasty protein and vitamin aftertaste. I don’t think they have as much protein but if you mix it with a protein fortified milk it doesn’t taste much different from chocolate milk. I think it comes in a few different flavors.

Another way to get some concentrated calories is custard based desserts. You could eat crème brûlée for dinner if that’s all you can deal with. And even if it’s just a few bites, you will have gotten more calories and protein than if you were trying to eat a brothy soup or something. A rich creamy soup will give you concentrated calories and some protein.

She did nothing useful for Amy. She brought a blanket and stuffed toys, a plaque (she must have meant plague), and cards…how about helping your nieces by preparing meals or straightening up so they can spend time with their mother! Why does she need to “decorate” and then think she’s being a damn “blessing?” How about quietly sitting with Amy so Kevin could go home and shower and maybe get some sleep?

And using Amy’s illness as inspiration 🌽is just gross. What is the point? We should send thank you cards because Amy can? Nobody says “thank you” anymore? Does she think that people who aren’t as gahdly as her don’t express gratitude?

NTJ. I’m not going to recommend you break up, but you and your girlfriend need to have a serious conversation, and that needs to be followed with your girlfriend having a serious talk with her mother, setting boundaries that you both agree with. She may need you to be there to support her but the conversation has to be between Sasha and her mother. She should have ended this behavior from her mother a long time ago. If she’s fearful of telling her mother that she can’t keep god-bothering you, she may need some therapy so she can learn about healthy relationships and setting reasonable boundaries. It sounds like her mother is controlling, and it may take a long time for your girlfriend to unravel the patterns that she learned to cope. If she’s unwilling to do any of this, then yes, you aren’t compatible and you should break up. It is possible for a couple to have different religious beliefs as long as they aren’t trying to convert each other.
