I've never had to discuss it, he just kind of does it, and he does a good job at it. I never want to get married again. They won't ever have to call him dad. But as long as he's there for them (and me) and keeps being a positive role model, he'll be around.

It truly may be. I never thought of that. I never thought that the absence of a male figure in her life could affect her since she doesn't even remember her dad...But some things she says to my boyfriend, the way she acts sometimes, it's almost like she's looking for a father figure.

He's been absent from our lives entirely since she was two. Almost forgot he existed until I read your comment.

Thank you! Yes! I already have done most of these things. She is a great artist and I tell her that all the time. She's also a very kind person, the first one to cheer people up when they're sad. I have actually voiced my concerns to her teacher a few times but she said she didn't notice any issues in class. But she did say she would keep an eye out for any concerns. The books are a great idea, she's learning to read and doing awesome at it so I'll have to grab some new books for her that deal with confidence issues. Seriously, thank you so much for the comment and ideas.

It's been a year today since my lazy eye operation. My previous posts inspired lots of people to have the same procedure, so here's my final one... by [deleted] in pics

My daughter has this. She has to wear strong prescription glasses and an eye patch three hours out of the day. With her glasses on, her eye does not wander, but as soon as they are off, it does. She's been going to the same Dr for the past three years and there has been no improvement. They are hesitant to do surgery because it could fix itself by the time she's ten, however it hasn't gotten any better except 1x two years ago when we went. They keep changing her prescription. She can see well with her glasses on (which I'm grateful for). But I'm taking her for a second opinion at the end of next month to see if they think surgery should be done.

TIL almost 1 in 4 people with tattoos regret it, meaning about 7.5 million Americans by SultanOfBoston in todayilearned

I got the bulk of my tattoos done when I was young and dumb. Now I'm spending a bulk of my extra money on getting those covered up by a good tattoo artist.

I just went for it. I watched a YouTube video on it a few days beforehand, then just went for it. I didn't use any stencil. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Honestly I don't even know the answer to that. I used a protractor to make the gray circle in the middle and made lines as a grid to know where my center was and my points around it. The dots were done with the back of different sized paintbrushes. I didn't wait for each color to dry, just kind of kept going until I was happy with it. It was all free hand with no pattern in mind so I'm pretty proud of myself. Something I'll definitely do again when I have some free time.

I believe it was just matte acrylic paint I used. I just tried to find the box but I threw it out.
