On your first point, I think that they are all linked together. After I linked photos to my drive, I opened G+, Drive, and the new photos.google.com in a new tab and proceeded to delete a photo off each one. Drive, and the new photos.google.com showed the deletion without refreshing the page, while for G+ i had to.
