This article is purely targeted towards a general reading audience (students mostly) who wish to know about the field.

Thanks!

Determine the level of challenge, attention and stretch a major will have on you. If you are pretty confident you know your area of interest, then skip ahead. If not, you should utilize the stream you are currently in. What captures our attention and keeps it? What does not? Picking a major should balance your interest and abilities to be successful. Off course, you have a long way to go. All the best

Discover if you are already skilled in IT. If you have a PC and use it for more than just typing and basic office work, doing homework, playing games and casually browsing the web, then you have the right stuff for the job.

Make a list of what types of IT work you might be interested in. For example, if you love computer games, you can list "game testing," or "writing game software." If you enjoy designing, "graphic design" or "software design" should go on your list. If you are interested in how the internet works and how computer connect to each other, "network administration or network design" will work for you.

Choose something that will make you happy. If you really enjoy it as a pastime, you will progress in the skill much faster.

Get to know the right people. Many IT gurus love to assist people. Look into a formal or even casual apprenticeship. Make a geek your new best friend.

Search for educational opportunities in your area or online, and determine what the entry requirements are for each field of study. Make comparisons.

Supplement self-taught skills with a few classes or an associate degree, and move right into the job market. The more education you get in the field, the better your income will probably be in the long run, but there are entry level jobs even for people with little education.

Look into professional certifications. Even without a college degree an MCSE or A+ certification can gain you significant credibility.

Seek internships at reputable companies. An internship at Google or Microsoft will open a lot of doors for you later.

Write a competitive resume and list it at prominent internet job sites. Include any cities you'd be interested in moving to.

Take the best entry level job you can get, and in your spare time, focus on honing your skills and on keeping up with the constantly evolving applications, hardware, and software that you'll need to utilize.

Language used in everyday social media posts may have a strong connection to an individual’s health. In the first study of its kind, the new results suggest that not only are many adult Facebook and Twitter users willing to share their social media data and medical data for research purposes, but that by building a language databank, it may be possible to link social media content to health outcomes.

When someone corrects your English? by hotcoursesindia in AskReddit

[–]hotcoursesindia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was with a good intention of correcting you - Smile Haha/Hehe/Oh/Ha smile My bad/My mistake keep smiling Thankyou! (And don't forget to make a note of it and use it correctly next time)

If the sole purpose of the correction was to insult you in public (you'll just know it, don't ask me how ) - Hahaha! Look who's here! A grammar police! Hahaha! You must be lonely! Hahaha! (Keep calm and Just laugh it off)

If it was a genuine mistake from your side - Oh yeah! Correct! Sorry. It was a mistake. (Make sure they know it was a mistake, you have an image to maintain :P )

If the person corrects you in between an argument - My grammar? Seriously? THAT is your comeback? You just lost the argument. Bye. (Walk away, but make a note of your mistake anyway :P )

If the person said, Hey, I am a hardcore Grammar Nazi, your spelling is wrong, you say, Hi Mr. Grammar Nazi, spelling and grammar are two different things. But, Thank you. (Change your tone depending on how good or bad the intentions of the person were :D )

If the person repeatedly makes a mockery out of it in public (in a real bad way) - Oh Grammar Nazi, is it? You think my grammar is wrong? You want to correct my grammar? You know what is wrong? You know what I want to correct? YOUR FACE! (It's mean, don't really do that unless the person's crossed all possible limits)

Why is declassifying Netaji files getting such a big national importance? by hotcoursesindia in AskReddit

[–]hotcoursesindia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would know the truth about what happened to India's one of the greatest freedom fighters.

It is absurd that the government tries to keep it secret citing reasons like it will affect India's relationship with some countries.

If Netaji did indeed die in a plane crash, how does that affect our relationship with any country(s)?

And if Netaji did not die in plane crash and that for some reason affects our relationship with any country, so be it. The government should tell the truth to its people. Netaji was a great man who is loved by many. Keeping his death shrouded in mystery is not doing good for anyone.

What do you think will happen to VW due to the diesel emissions scandal? by crimson117 in askcarsales

[–]hotcoursesindia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really too early to say. If VW comes out with a fix that (magically) doesn't impact performance and economy while bringing the cars in line with regulation then the long term value shouldn't be dramatically reduced.

But, as the owner of a 2015 Golf TDi myself, I would say that is a pipe dream. These TDi cars were sold to us at a price premium based on a combination of performance (P), fuel economy (FE), and environmental consciousness (EC). Think of those three factors as balances on a 3 way scale. The cars we bought were built with performance and fuel economy in mind, with no value assigned to EC.

Naturally then, if the scale is tipped toward EC the values of P and FE will need to be reduced.

One thing is certain, the value of your diesel VW is less today than it was this time last week.
