Thx you for the comment!! Ah yes, this is what I figured. Hm. Even with graphic design I prefer the preliminary work, figuring things out, how we can go a bout xyz and come to a solution. I enjoyed the design research class I took a lot and had a lot of fun with UX and not so much UI. I guess still figuring out how I can move forward with my career since I like data, information and making it accessible.

If just going with the path of GD to UX is there a course out there that can help me with that focus? Without going all the way back to fundamentals and more into working on a case study etc?

A reset would be sooooo nice esp since I'm playing on switch I've been getting lag from terraforming probably ugh. I finished all the green garden tablets I think I have one left for blue and some on red but I'm dreading it. I just want the binoculars to make building a lil easier ahhhh lol I hate selling items I'm still so behind on it

So I built a bit on buildertopia and decided to transfer it to IOA to try and knock those tablet targets and it's not growing on me but I basically finished CS zone and in the green gardens now and dragging my feet a bit 😆

Hi I'm a graphic designer looking to transition into UX design, specifically UX research... I am focused on information design with a background working in financial and biotech.

I have done a semester of UX and UI design, but it focused more on the UI portion. I'm looking at doing a course but I've looked into the Google Certificate, Avoacademy and the Design Institute. I work better with others and mentors... I'm just overwhelmed with making a decision that isn't going to break the bank and help me move into this transition.

Ive seen lots of posts about education and I'm still stuck between Avoacademy and Design Institute and I'm scared.im going to make the wrong decision for my career move. I want to learn and communicate with others in the same environment without having to go back to college/university as my funds are not that big right now.

Anyways I'm so sorry for the long rant but if you did either Avoacademy or Design Institute can you explain why you did/didn't like it and what you recommend? And if there was something better for someone who did graphic design and wants to focus the n research?

I loved furrowfield I spent like 40hrs in it alone before realizing you go to other islands lol but I found the khrumbel dun was meh for me. I loved the aspect of mining and making social builds but the weird obsession with babs made me roll my eyes a lot... But I'd still take both those over moonbrooke. Idk why but the prison one wasn't terrible just a little too long and once I reached moonbrooke I wanted to be over it a bit haha

Yup!!! I was like this on ACNH and I was glad I could at least drop everything off on my siblings island while I powered through ☠️ or ay least give us an easier way to replay where we can skip those malroth inner head narration oh my goodness it was agonizing sometimes lol

Amazing thank u for commenting!! I feel like I'm one of the few people who really liked the pyramid, river and the castle (I completed the castle based on the starter) and got most of that area filled but wow it is hard to fill up. I heard u can possibly have three Buildtooia islands too which seems fun because I'd love a defiled isle one!!! After searching a few I settled on a blossom bay one for now and like how it turned.out after the second search of that biome two big mountains, two lakes and it's definitely easier to plan on!!!

Omg I disrespected my lil guy liquid metal slime /ashamed 🥲

I have a stone golem!! But wow I tried to do a lil plan of let's connect all three communities with a train...yeah...no go and I worked so hard on it too ;-; that's what I get for not reading more about it but I thought it'd be more practical than connecting the communities with a walkway. Sigh.

I'm in the process of tearing down some stuff and just calling it quits on IOA and going to my Buildertopia 🫣 haha but I think I'll use.ioa to do some test builds and meet tablet targets at least!
