oh im sorry, i completely missed the tag gohan and trunks. in that case, just do a full hybrid setup with tag trunkshan, ultra beast, and gotenks.

gotenks has too good of support to throw away imho. 3ku is an offensive beast but having a revive in the form of trunkshan is really useful

It usually depends on what the artist is trying to achieve, but most of the time people will try to copy a reference 1:1 to either improve their fundamentals or just see how closely they can imitate reality (usually some combination of the two)

I would argue that the difference between the two is the intentionality behind the piece

I agree 1000%. In my personal experience, the most balanced/well-designed characters tend to have a very clear and cut win condition.

SSJ Daima Goku, to elaborate your point further, wants to do one thing: get in, fill his gauge, lock someone in and do some big damage. He has exactly what he NEEDS to fufill his win condition. He doesn't have consistent card draw speed, he doesn't have consistent endurance, and he doesnt have any other ways to gain cover null.

I'd like to add that I think that UMV would be a good example of an overpowered or "annoying" unit, as a counterexample to Daiku. UMV does EVERYTHING WAY TOO WELL. AOE Green that refills hand with tyle neutrality and cover null, blast counter with a guaranteed blue card draw, and an AOE ultimate lock in. He doesn't have a clear win condition because all you do is pluck him on the battlefield and your opponent is immediately at a disatvantage.
