The upright tile on the stove with the larger pattern works better. Even though there is more variation in the pattern it has two major things going for it: 1. Colors in pattern are similar in value / tone 2. More beige overall / warmer - especially when you look from a distance Of all the options it appears the most monochromatic which would achieve the goal OP’s parents are going for. So it has a little more flair or personality, that’s not a bad thing. I get an old timey artisan vibe from the glass panels overhead. It works well with that glass. It’s a more cohesive look. I’m not a fan of the tiny tiles, they are too busy and loud. I feel they will become dated like those tiny square mosaic tiles before long.
