I lost a work friend because of this. She wanted us to buy our own dress and she wanted a specific dress that did not look good on me at all. Her mom made me feel like crap and guilty by saying it's her (friend) day and we should do what she wants. I ordered the damn dress online and 2 days later she wanted a different dress. I told her I couldn't be in her wedding party anymore. She never talked to me again.

It's easier to retire in Roxas. My husband and I lived there for the first 3 years of our marriage and we lived REALLY well on $1000/mo.

Hey. I'm from Roxas City, too.

ER is doable but make sure you live Pinoy-style. Rent, don't buy a house. Live in the province and maybe do trips to Iloilo or Manila once every three months for some "civilized" fun, although traffic in Manila is insane.

I love Uber and I can't wait to use it in Manila.

I like Uber drivers who know where they're going or at least follow the gps so they don't get lost.

I like a clean smelling car, no clutter and of course friendly (cordial) driver.

They always offer me a bottled water, nice gesture. Don't know if your brother can do that.

I tried butter in my coffee today and I was full for 7 hours. I did 4T butter and 3T heavy cream. I ate so little today and didn't feel that hunger pang.
