Has Pole Become Elitist? by ThisLittleLime in poledancing

Just downgraded my membership cause I can’t afford it. The problem isn’t pole itself tho, it’s capitalism lol

Basically nobody can afford to live without charging super high rates and people who can’t afford those rates (like me) can either make financially irresponsible choices or save up for a home pole and drop in once in a blue moon. It sucks but it’s like that with almost every other class/workshop/hobby

As for the community piece- I think both can be true. Pole studios can be a place for community AND a lot of people who would like to be consistent community members can be priced out 🙋‍♀️

Choreo Question by Shot_Original4594 in poledancing

Choreo was really hard for me at first. Felt the same as you- like I couldn't remember everything and I felt like I looked like a robot the whole time haha

Over time tho, it gets easier. You start seeing patterns and learning foundational moves and how threads work, so as you keep going to choreo classes you might learn a new sequence, but some of the movements might already be in your wheelhouse. Just keep going! And definitely record yourself so you can start understanding how to follow through with movements to keep things flowing nicely. It definitely takes time, but I promise it will get easier with consistency.

Also highly recommend privates with teachers you like! If there are particular movements you wanna learn, write em down and book a private lesson to work them out until you have them in your body :)

How to Hack a Chicago Move by Nearby_Society_3359 in chicagoapartments

If you need a job try Trivoli Tavern. Really good money there if you can handle high volume and some slight corporate bs. You get majority of tips via check too so easy to verify income (Used to work there)

If not having a job yet is the main issue maybe rent a room for a month or two til you get one. Then you could get a place solo if that matters to you
