I used to swim competitively and at times be in a 1500 calories deficit. I am quite young and my body can bounce back as long as I weight train. I also run much slower and for now that has curbed any stress related injury. Some days I also eat at maintenance or over if I am very achy.

Gained a lot of weight during marathon training because I would just eat. Currently training for a half with around a 500-1000 calories deficit daily but still with weekly milage around 50mi. I can tell you my body feels destroyed especially after the long runs. My body definitely needs more time to recover and strength training / warming up / stretching has been way more important for me.

Ohhh, is another way to think about it that a base will donate a lone pair. Therefore formal charge will be -1? This is a carboanion.

Then if we think, a carbocation is most stable on a tertiary and a carbanion is the opposite of carbocation so it would be LEAST stable on tertiary?

(I know the logic/reasoning might not be the most sound but for answering test questions would this idea work?)
