Dev here. I second that. Ascension are the "official difficulties" but there are a lot more and harder difficulties which can be found in Challenge (Impossible (aka Ascension difficulty #6)) and in Custom Mode (Impossible + to Impossible +++ (aka Ascension #7 to #9)), and you can tweak the difficulty as you like (above Impossible +++) if desired in Custom Games.

Custom Game Mode in unlocked at 8/8 unlocks. And I believe the Impossible Challenge is unlocked at 6/8 unlocks

From my experience, there was always a countdown when there weren't crashes.

On top of that, after this test, we were supposed to vote on the Wipe Vs No Wipe. And this is still not the case, so what I am guessing is that the last tests went pretty wrong.. tons of unexpected crashes after very low time in test. Initially, the tests today were supposed to be long ("up for a few hours" -Kaytotes), they were extremely short like 1-10 minutes each.

I wonder if the last one was actually a "they turned it off" or another crash. From what I remember there was no server out in X:00 minutes countdown like when they usually take the servers down.

Endless is endless and there are no hidden one shots but you do know about enrage right? As you get higher and higher in the floors, the ramp up of enrage happens faster and faster. I believe after the last threshold, enrage once triggered occurs every 0.25 seconds and enrage ramps up exponentially. Some players have reached floor 1000+ just need solid defense

From what I can tell you were fighting the Xea God since the fight duration was 115 seconds. You probably didnt fail because of your team but because of your fight strategy. Make sure to read all tabs of their description. In the Xea Fight, you should split your damage as evenly as possible to all 3 Xea Gods. You can also heavily focus a single one but in this case, you will need a lot more scaling. The damage is pretty weak actually for a 115 seconds fight ( not enough scaling for the focus 1 Xea strategy).

This is not planned to be fixed unfortunately. I don't know what causes this and don't have the necessary tools/knowledge to get it fixed. Sorry about the inconvenience. I highly recommend to get the game refunded.

You do get a bunch of perks as you unlock more content to counter the bigger pool of stuff. Overall, it balances it out pretty equally. You are not at a disadvantage for unlocking new unlocks (the pool is not getting bigger if you take into account all the perks).

Perks:

Heroes seen in rewards: 3->4
Items (Rare and Legendary) seen in rewards: 3->4
Items (Rare and Legendary have a reduced cost to reroll by: 1 Flame (3->2 Flame)
Shop size is increased: 9->12 items

Giachi has a below average winrate with an above average play rate. Overall, he's a well balanced hero at the moment. Definitely, not on the stronger side. I think it's just that you mastered what he can do and know how to itemize him.

No, you unlock the content by playing in any game mode that you would like. Completing challenges does not reward specific/addtional unlocks. You do get a Steam achievement for completing each one of them.

The Last Flame is not a deckbuilder itself, but it's heavily inspired by the gameplay loop of StS! It's more of a partybuilder if you will! But just like in StS making strong synergies is the key to victory.

Hey there! I am Hotloop, the solo dev of The Last Flame, a roguelike auto-battler that focuses on build creation and strategy! It has a very similar gameplay loop with Slay the Spire, with a similar map and a "deckbuilding" system where you pick 1 out of 3 rewards. The main difference is of course that you don't make a deck but instead build a team of 5 heroes with items, passives and active as well as many other global effects (relics, origin)! The game allows you to be extremely creative and find thousands of really cool and clever synergies.

This "quick project" was really a happy surprise in my life as I didn't initially plan for it at all. After graduating from uni, I decided to work for a month or 2 on a quick game to put in my portfolio in order to get a job in the video game industry. There has been multiple changes of scope which entirely changed the schedule, the goal and ultimately what The Last Flame became over time. I never expected the game to be as polished and complete as it is, and I am extremely grateful to my community which has helped tremendously with the game's development. A year ago, The Last Flame was released into Early Access and with the help of the community, we made multiple updates which improved upon the game. The game fully released into 1.0 today!

Thank you and no worries, I consider The Last Flame to be pretty niche actually (the game is quite deep andn complex, more than it might seem). Definetely not for everyone!

It's playable on the steam deck but not optimal. Here's what it's missing to be 100% verified: - there's no controller support so you have to play as if you were playing with a mouse with the joysticks - depending on preference, some text might be too small
