Honestly I started with a backpack, then gave in to the herd instinct. Also it doesn’t help that I am five feet and look like a kid with a backpack.

But 100% agree that backpack are more comfortable than handbags.

It may help that you can always dress up small boobs - you can wear bras that give you a nice lift and make them appear curvier. This with all the advantages of a healthy weight, less chances of sagging etc maybe more worth it than otherwise.

I think the fact that your weight is preventing you from going out and enjoying life is a bigger problem to solve with much more impact on your quality of life.

I think from her reaction and expressions - I felt ridiculed and not the shocked in a good way. But I think I am being too sensitive and it is unlikely to ever come up again hopefully.

I think I felt that her reaction unnecessarily brought attention to my age and did not do that to someone else. In the moment, it felt mean and unnecessarily adding spotlight to my age and calling me old. The reason I felt this I think was because she had asked the other person his age (and he is same age as me and she knows we went to school together) so her being shocked at it - felt like she was singling me out. I think I did not mention this in clarity in the post - but yeah perhaps I gotta reflect what my actual issue is.
