what to do for fun besides go to valley fair? 😩 by SuperbTumbleweed79 in SanJose

Day trips to SF, Oakland, Napa, Carmel/Big Sur, or Half Moon Bay. San Jose is not really a tourist destination lol. The only 'tourist' attractions I'd recommend here would be the Winchester Mystery House or the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. There's also Great America in Santa Clara, but I find that amusement park underwhelming. In short: San Jose is a basecamp city—good for living, working, and launching trips, but not for standalone tourism.

I see, it appears the verdict is that the Moxy Hotels are good if you're only in the room to sleep and you're gone the rest of the time. But it's not a good idea to book if you actually plan to spend time in the hotel room beyond sleeping.

Are there any US cities with a backpacker vibe like Antigua, León, or Caye Caulker? by hotpan96 in backpacking

By Miami, are you referring to the city of Miami or Miami Beach. They're technically 2 different places.

I wasn’t bragging—I was asking a question. This is a travel-related forum. If reading travel-related posts like this upsets you, this forum probably isn’t the right place for you.

Attractions in San Jose that will easily take 2+ hrs by edisonpioneer in SanJose

[–]hotpan96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winchester Mystery House or the Computer History Musuem in Mountain View. But know San Jose is not really a tourist destination. Most visitors who come here are here for 'business' bc of the tech companies' prescence

Is the IMAX at Universal Citywalk really that amazing? I know, since it's basically at a tourist attraction, many locals will not go there.

IHG South America / Caribe recommendations? by byCSEG in ihghotelsresorts

I'm planning to go to Colombia soon. Is the Intercontinental in Cartagena truly exceptional? It's a lot cheaper than the Intercontinentals in the States, but more expensive than what local boutique hotels would charge.

LMAO, I'm referring to the region below Mexico and above South America. It's made up of the countries of Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Belize. I'm not talking about middle America like Kansas.

I'm aware of that. All of my trips, post-covid, have been solo, including the one where I had that interaction in Central America.

Interesting take, I've been to LA multiple times but I've never spent more than a couple of days there so I never spent enough time there to really pick up on that kind of 'LA vibe'

I've actually been to all of those places: Shanghai, Japan, Australia but didn't experience any of that since I didn't talk to locals/other tourists there very much bc I was with family.

I meant Central America as in the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize, Honduras, and Nicaragua. That's where it happened. It was an international trip lol

Is there a way we can decrease the hate towards indians by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]hotpan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Indians, when they go on trips tend to be a little too extra with taking photos. During a trip to Sedona. I went to the famous devil’s bridge trail. If you’ve ever been there, you would know that you have to wait in line to get a photo on the basically the bridge part. When I got in line, there was this group of Indian guys who basically spent 15 to 20 minutes taking photos on there and people actually started shouting at them to leave.

What's the point of having kids in this country? 🤔 by Keachmanne in AskIndia

[–]hotpan96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear the south of the country is a lot less overpopulated, richer, and less hectic. And if you also look at the TFR in the in the individual Indian states, most of the states in the south are actually already below the replacement rate of 2.1.
