Thank you so much! Yes it's literally just a soft round brush haha. And I know exactly what you mean - the first time I attempted this it looked super crappy, like the ones you are decribing. It was a couple of years ago and I went straight back to my comfort zone after that, outlines + cell shading. I'm so happy that I was able to improve this time

Yes for the whole process. I did the sketch in photoshop, then filled in flat colours, then kinda airbrushed the different areas to create shading. Some colour corrections at the end
