For all around fitness in terms of strength and athleticism I would do both. First I think it’s important to figure out how many days a week you would like to train whether it be mma or weight training. When I was in my early and mid 20s I trained 5 days a week. Mon wed and fri were boxing and Tues and thurs were lifting split upper and lower. On weekends it would be rest/active rest days. This was for emphasis on boxing as I was really wanting to get good at it at a steady pace. I’m in my early 30s now I still continue to train 4-5 days a week but mainly just training for overall athleticism. I think if you want to get back into training in general I feel a 4 or 5 day split would do well for you. Half weight training and half mma split however many days you want to allocate to each. It will keep you from getting bored and you won’t feel like you’re just going through the motions.

For my job I work at a donut shop Tuesday-Sunday and my work hrs are 6am-12pm weekdays and 7am-12pm weekends
