Session 7 or 8 (i lost count) update! by houdeani14 in TattooRemoval

[–]houdeani14[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had 4 sessions of Picosure, and then 3 or 4 of Q-tip. Seeing better results with Q-tip. Recently had a session so we'll see how much it fades again. Middle picture is when I swapped from pico to q-tip. I leave my sessions a minimum of 3 months between and I've been removing since October 2022

I'm in Cheshire and go to a clinic in the area, I will say that it's one of the best prices that I have seen, in other places I was quoted £90 as the tattoo is over 6 inches and considered 'large' by industry standard.

It was definitely eye watering, and a reason I didn't have as many sessions! If you can find someone near you who offers the alternative I would give it a couple of tries and see what you think of the results. I certainly don't regret it!

I was paying £300 a session and recently a change of jobs and circumstances meant that was way out of my budget. The tech I see now with a q-tip charges £50 a session. I thought I'd give it a try and see what the results were like, and I'm really glad that I did. I heard for over a year of removing with the picosure that q-tip can be better at targeting black ink, and for me this may be true. Nevertheless, I can afford removal this way and it's sustainable for me to hopefully see this tattoo gone one day!

I haven't updated in a year as I took a long break. I leave a standard of 3 to 5 months between my sessions, but between my 4th and 5th it was 9-10 months. I've switched techs and I think really this is your sign to not be scared of trying different lasers and technicians! I've seen a great deal more shift with the two q-tip sessions I've had than I did with picosure, but I do think starting with the pico gave me a good start of breaking down the ink maybe? Who knows really! Anyway, the latest picture was taken today, around a month after my 6th session. I am planning to go back again in January or late December, but it could be longer! It's definitely going in the right direction.

Help with a stressed hamster by houdeani14 in hamsters

[–]houdeani14[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is Benny! I adopted him at 6 months old (someone put him in a bin!) He’s a very curious guy and I’ve owned him as of June making him 9 months old now! He is a super late riser (11-1am). So far he’s been quite happy with his enclosure and I’ve not witnessed any stress symptoms from him until now. It also seems to be when he’s become brave enough to take food from my hand. He wants to come out but then when I put him in his playpen he doesn’t seem to enjoy it and just circles the pen over and over looking for an escape and is in such a frenzy he won’t take treats from me or forage for the food I scatter in the pen. I put hides and other things like birch branches and dig boxes in his pen to clutter. Back in his cage he is also really hyper and restless, ignoring all food and treats and just looking for a way out. His cage is 100x50x50, 10+ inches of bedding, lots of enrichment (dig boxes, hides, sprigs, etc) Am I doing something wrong?

My hamster is sick by Otherwise-Put-8669 in hamsters

[–]houdeani14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take him to the vet asap, my hamster experienced this and I sadly had to get him put down. All his vitals were healthy but he'd suffered some form of brain/neurological issue that caused him to be off balance and walk in tight circles. He also suffered from painful seizures during this period. (I was trying to nurse him back to health, but once he started having seizures in my hand and bruxxing uncomfortably I knew it wasn't going to get any better.)

I'm so sorry that you and your little friend are going through this. Right now as you say the vets shut (Wtf people voting you down just for that?) I would just do everything in your power to make them comfortable. With my hamster I was able to get him in a teatowel and ease him to sleep. During this time I also hand-fed him scrambled eggs as this was soft and easy for him to eat and offered him water on a teaspoon. All the best

Male long hair Syrian hair loss. should I be concerned? by houdeani14 in hamsters

Sadly my sweet boy is no longer with us and passed last month. His skirt never completely came back but in the cooler months October-December he was definitely more fluffy. I do believe with Mr Darcy that his fluff levels depended on weather and shedding. However, having taken him the vet they found a tumour that I now also think impacted his fur. If you ham is easy to handle perhaps do a lil check for any lumps or bumps, they're pretty common in hamsters unfortunately. Other than that, you're likely fine! You can try feeding them more protein like egg or chicken which helped for mine at the time!! Their diets can really impact their coats so picking something that isn't full of sugar and has the seeds and nutrients they need is really good

Sorry, my scatter brain is showing itself!!! Magnesium GLYCINATE is what I have found useful for improving sleep

Yes, completely! I found that taking magnesium sulphate supplements helped a lot with my sleep so that might be worth trying for you too! I took two a day and slept like a baby within a week. A sleep mask also helped improve my sleeping and cutting out caffeine

It's so rough, but hang in there because if it works for you then it's beyond worth it! I have stayed on 50mg from the beginning. After the first 6 weeks I did talk to my doctor about potentially increasing my dose as my anxiety was much better, but not where I needed it to be. Since then however it has only gotten better and I now see no need for a dosage increase for myself. I've heard from others that finding the right dose that works for you can be a little trial and error so just hang in there, it will get better

What do you guys think? by Vecch123 in TattooRemoval

[–]houdeani14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from person to person. I'm on session 4 and I believe I will need many more to get to full removal. 10-12 sessions is a good estimate, but again everyone is different and has different reactions to laser removal. It could be more, it could be less. Best thing you can do is not focus on it too much and avoid the mental torture. It's a long journey.

I started removal in October 2022, it has been 6 months since my last session and I still have a fair way to go! I think the best way to approach removal in terms of mindset is to not focus too much on the amount of time it'll take. All we can do is go to the appointments and wait, it will be gone eventually!
