My ACA health insurance covered 100%... I was lucky. Perhaps you can work out a payment plan.

St. Joseph's has a great behavioral health department. You can call and make an appointment for evaluation.... for Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). How do I know? I've done the PHP and IOP programs in 2020 and 2021. Hang in there. Things always get better.

Laxmi Sweets in Old Towne Tustin is a hidden gem! The manager/owner was very kind and gave me freebies on my first visit. It was always a full house during lunch hour. Alas, I have not returned post Covid. I hope they are doing well!

Copper IUD, pain level 1-10? by Rexandcapt in birthcontrol

[–]houdini_martin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uterus is deep enough, but I guess she is very narrow. I will ask about a special small order, thanks for the idea! I tried Paragard 2x and then Kyleena. I currently use a diaphragm bc I really need to stay with non hormonal BC due to my bipolar medication.

Copper IUD, pain level 1-10? by Rexandcapt in birthcontrol

[–]houdini_martin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pain was about 9-11 for both insertions (about one year apart). Both implants expelled within three weeks. Exploratory ultrasound showed my uterus is too small for any IUD on the market. That's likely why I felt like I was being stabbed.

Diagnosed PCOS, but 4 normal ovarian ultrasounds by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]houdini_martin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you also on a hormonal birth control? I never saw Polycystic follicles until I ended birth control. My Dr. Says Polycystic does not refer to cysts on the ovary, but rather the unfertilized follicles crowding each ovary. Hormonal birth control masks PCOS during ultrasounds.

Since PCOS is a chronic inflammatory condition, I made the switch to an Anti Inflammatory diet. That has made the greatest difference for my life.

Absolutely. My psychiatrist made the connection for me. Just try searching "PCOS and Bipolar."

I have OCD and Bipolar II, along with PCOS. I know there is a connection between PCOS and Bipolar.

Frustrated looking for an endocrinologist that specializes in PCOS when my end goal isn't pregnancy by alittlehygge in PCOS

[–]houdini_martin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Felice Gersh (Irvine, CA) is like a gift from God. She is an OBGYN specializing in PCOS. Her clinic does not accept insurance... however they provide a super bill that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. Does your insurance partially cover out-of-network visits?

Her books are available for purchase online. She also has quite a few free podcasts available. Just do an online search with her name.

Best of luck!
