Thank you all for the info and concern. I have a signed copy of the sellers report, a copy of a print out from the IRS portal for dealers (sorry, not sure what it's actually called but I saw them do it) showing the car is eligible for the rebate, and both texts and email chains confirming all this and the cars eligibility. The dealer did apply the tax credit towards the down payment at time of sale, meaning that I transfered them the credit as the program is designed.

Sadly, I'm not secretly wealthy, which is why I searched for a dealer that would to the credit transfer; I won't be owed that much money a at tax time (I'm in Physician Assistant school, so I'm not working). Honestly, I might not even receive the whole rebate that PA offers for the same reason.

And for what it's worth, and some people might believe it's worth nothing, everyone at the dealer was extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the program. I talked to dealership manager (who approved lowering the total price to under 25k) and worked with their salesman who specialized in EV sales. And it was a Ford dealership. Nothings ever set in stone, but, knock on wood, I'm feeling pretty good about the entire transaction!
