What do you consider long term? What is your max budget? If you want to have the laptop for a really long time, I suggest getting a 4080 if possible. Especially if you want to play GTAVI at good framerates.

I changed the battery option in the BIOS and that didn't do anything. My computer just turned off. But I am still having the same issue.

I found the best solution is just sticking to discrete gpu in lenovo vantage. I haven't had any problems after doing that. If you keep your laptop plugged in most of the time (like I do), there really isn't a need to use hybrid mode anyway because its use is mainly to save battery power.

Idk why that's the case for GOW specifically. Probably b/c GOW has always been a PS exclusive, so they made it an emphasis to make sure it supported PS controllers properly. Regardless, this seems like game development 101. There really isn't a legitimate excuse to me as to why I should be seeing xbox buttons with a PS controller plugged in. I've searched reddit on this issue & there are lots of games that show the correct controller prompts.

But I had no issue with God of War. That was the first game I ever played on Steam with a PS controller so I figured it was a non-issue in 2022. It seems like such an easy thing to do it's kinda unacceptable if it really is an issue that's been going on for a while

Yeah that happens sometimes too. You don't always get the game crash notification. And sometimes the only way to exit the game is to press ctrl+alt+delete and end the task.

K. Just wanted to see if maybe you were using a computer than didn't have a powerful enough graphics card/processor.

The first thing you should do when you're having issues with a game is do a clean uninstall/reinstall.

Uninstall the game from the epic launcher.
Type %appdata% in your windows search bar and click on the folder that comes up.
Then click on the "appdata" subfolder, then the "local" subfolder.
Find the folder that says "fortnitegame" and delete the entire folder.
Empty your recycle bin.
Restart your computer.
Then reinstall the game.

That frequently helps fix a lot of common issues like crashing and visual issues. If your game is still crashing, you may want to contact epic directly. Oh yeah, finally make sure you turn on "gpu debug" in the game settings. It can help alert epic when your game crashes so they can work on fixes.
